too bad taxes are an essential part our society. taxes pay for things that private industry cannot. you cannot force a private entity to build a bridge or maintain the roads. taxes also provide the income for those who cannot provide an income for themselves - the elderly, sick and disabled. i think there needs to be more oversight and restrictions on how our tax money is spent, but they shouldnt go away completely.

There were four Residents until they got the emulator in 1982. Since then, it's been "Homer" AKA "N. Senada" AKA "Sid Powell" singing (most of the time) and a computers/keyboards that could be programmed by anyone - one rumour has it the Residents has been just one person since 1989, but I suppose "Hardy Fox" is still involved in some way, even if he's not a musician.

whoa whoa i never said anything about pointing guns at people. Our government doesnt even do that, thats just wrong. you dont pay taxes you go to jail. Im just saying there are people who are dependent on incomes provided to them through taxation. If there were anarchy, there is no guarantee that these people will be taken care of. Bridges and roads etc etc need to be maintained.

Actually, the government routinely points gun at people. All laws are enforced with a threat of viollence that will become violence if the individual does not obey.
I doubt that there is any service the state provides that the public can't provide themselves. As I illustrated, the state is just a monopoly, and because a monopoly doesn't have to compete, it can overcharge and under-serve.

(continued) There are plenty of wealthy people with so much extra money (a lot that the government doesnt even know about i bet) to pay for these things without hurting the middle class and the poor. the rich NEED to pay more in taxes, it is their obligation to do so. even the Bible says the rich should pay more. we also need universal healthcare. this can be done by taxing employer provided health care benefits and the very rich.

actually there is a lot of support for paying for health care how i described. look it up. for peace to happen, people in general need to learn how to refrain from violence, but we cannot single out "the state" as the source of all problems in America. you dont have to fear the police if youre not breaking the law. the percentage of corrupt police is a very insignificant percentage.

Um, I'm all for socialized health care, I just don't think you should pay for it with stolen money, and enforce it with violence, which is exactly what the state does.
I'm not singling out the state as the sole cause of societies problems, but I am telling you that it is not an appropriate means of promoting your social agenda.
We shouldn't be afraid of the state, despite the fact that it threatens all of us everyday, and kills millions, we should just stop believing in it.

I don't think they've done a show with only men on stage since the Snakefinger days.

Actually on several live shows they clearly show "someone" playing bass. Demons Dance alone to name but one. I love how people buy into this whole "cryptic corp must be the same people as the rez" shtick. Maybe it's a guest musician. maybe there aren't even any permanent musicians, who knows...

The Residents were finished by 1985 when they split up after the Mole Show. Now it's just Homer Flynn's self-indulgences, I think. However, I don't see any problem with uncovering the Residents when they were at their peak in the 1970s . . .

I have seen unmasked pictures of The Residents on stage in Tromsø, Norway, and I can confirm that the lead singer is indeed Homer Flynn. Same voice, same forehead.

There were four Residents until they got the emulator in 1982. Since then, it's been "Homer" AKA "N. Senada" AKA "Sid Powell" singing (most of the time) and a computers/keyboards that could be programmed by anyone - one rumour has it the Residents has been just one person since 1989, but I suppose "Hardy Fox" is still involved in some way, even if he's not a musician.

Oh, and in the 1986 tour, The Residents were Homer Flynn, with Keef Rob on keyboards and Snakefinger on guitar. And the girl singer Molly is Homer Flynn's daughter. And Hardy Fox' only vocal appearance is the "milking the cow didn't work" line in Fingerprince. Keef Rob was the group's keyboard player for much of the eighties. He was in Faust later, a Faust lineup that lasted one whole gig before falling apart due to money and personal problems. Experimental music doesn't really pay.
