Look in the southwestern sky — no telescope or binoculars needed. The show will even be visible in cities if it's a clear night
Starting Thanksgiving evening, Jupiter and Venus will begin moving closer so that by Sunday and Monday, they will appear about a finger width apart held out at arm's length.
Monday night, they will be joined by a crescent moon
The next time the three will be as close and visible as this week will be Nov. 18, 2052
It is highly speculated that the other side of the moon holds alot of unnatural artifacts. It's been 40 years since we supposedly put a man on the moon and still we have no close up images of anything on the moon except what the asstroNOTs took pictures of.
i don't think it is, i prefer the visible side. it has a lot more detail and those big patches of dark gray rock and you can see one of the poles on our side.
-Our moon and Earth get struck by space objects at approximately the same rate - then why is it that our surface doesn't appear with craters as prominently as the moon?
"...new images from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope are shedding light on the true structure of the Milky Way, revealing that it has just two major arms of stars instead of the four it was previously thought to possess."
"Our own sun might have once resided in a different arm. Since it was formed more than 4 billion years ago, it has traveled around the galaxy 16 times."
hey mariagarcia! i love ur vids!!!!!!! i liked the jupitar one this one and the illusion ones and plenty!!! if i like some more of ur other vids ill subscribe
Thank you Maria for the video. FYI, if you have a laptop, lean it forward to see the details. I found it very interesting. I see alot of hidden things by doing this. thanks again.
In answering the previous question, I also came across an interesting tidbit about the moon's far side. Each full moon, the side we never see becomes electrically 'charged' due to Earth's own magnetosphere that spreads outward and over to that part of the moon (aided by solar wind activity). Since astronauts have never been to the moon during a 'full moon' they haven't experienced the effects this event could cause-electrical interference on analytical/navigational instruments
You made me curious enough to go look it up on NASA's site!
"Basins occur equally on the near side and far side (basins are craters that are 190 miles or more across). Most basins have little or no fill of basalt, particularly those on the far side. The difference in filling may be related to variations in the thickness of the crust. The far side has a thicker crust, so it is more difficult for molten rock to reach the surface there."
FYI-The presence of the Moon stabilizes Earth's wobble
That is so awesome, so awesome in fact.. that im going to subscribe to you... I have liked every vid you put out! I look forward to more of the same! and I wish we saw all the views of the moon... I love space!
The sinuous valleys on the Moon (called sinuous rimae or rilles) have been the focus of much debate. The most extreme view is that they were cut by flowing water. However, study of the details of their shape and the nearly complete lack of water in returned lunar samples make this hypothesis very unlikely. (NASA)
I'm not much of a science major but wouldn't the complete lack of water be most probable after a few billion years of the sweltering sun hitting down on the moon, even if it did have a small type of atmosphere at one point... again not much of a science major so this probably sounds stupid
Scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., have obtained the first images of asteroid 2007 TU24 using high-resolution radar data. The data indicate the asteroid is somewhat asymmetrical in shape, with a diameter roughly 250 meters (800 feet) in size.
"... we can guarantee that next week's 1.4-lunar-distance approach is the closest until at least the end of the next century"
Asteroid to Make Rare Close Flyby of Earth January 29
Scientists are monitoring the orbit of asteroid 2007 TU24. The asteroid, believed to be between 150 meters (500 feet) and 610 meters (2,000 feet) in size, is expected to fly past Earth on Jan. 29, with its closest distance being about 537,500 kilometers (334,000 miles) at 12:33 a.m. Pacific time (3:33 a.m. Eastern time). It should be observable that night by amateur astronomers with modest-sized telescopes
If you find any film of it happening that'd be cool to watch, better than watching a simulation at least. Shoe maker was ok, but it vanished into a gas giant, bah.
Least we should hopefully see surface - surface impact with this one.
I've heard about this is science class. Moon rotates at the same speed it orbits the earth, so we can only see one side. Though my teacher never showed us the picture of the other side of the moon, it was very fascinating now that I see it.
so what... no titanic wreck, no missing planes, what a let down :P
joking ofcourse, thanks for the upload, even google had a hard time finding any non-fiction images of this side of the moon, thanks a million.... more plz
it's like that couse metors and stuff hit it more than the front isnt it? many metos and stuff that would land and earth get pulled towords the moon instead..i think..
Why does the far side hasn't crates?? Look like a freezed sea of milk. (:
