Truly, there is no reason why the Philippines must rely on other countries for her staple food - rice. The country has enough lands to sustain substantial production of rice crops. Brother Eli is right. Corruption is what stops the country from producing this much needed product. Philippines should be exporting rice, not importing from other countries. Shame on the people of the government for not supporting our farmers.

It is very sad to note, that while here in the US, food is plenty, the rice which is a basic commodity for us Filipinos, is very expensive now a days. Did we stop to think about this? What is it in the Philippines, that we have to suffer this much? Is it the just the government only? Or is it also the false religion of the innocent Filipinos who are led by a powerful religious group and asked to worship the creature than the Creator?
