I was doing my homework while listening to classical music and then I found another video and then another and finally ended up with one of Ludovico Einaudi's songs. I have loved him ever since. His music is amazing and I'm hoping to be able to get one of his CDs soon.

The beauty of all of Einaudi's pieces is that despite their seemingly simple and unsophisticated structure, they contain so much passion and emotion that other composers can easily mask by making things complicated. Not dissing Mozart or anything, but their works are at times overpowering; you can still sense a general emotion, but it lacks a personal connection to the piece. With Einaudi's pieces, their simplicity makes them easily accessible which makes a personal emotional connection.

lol this really isn't that complicated, it's the exact same chords over and over and over and over again with different melodies, and insanely looooooong pauses to make it all mystical and dramatic. Open your eyes, just look around youtube at what other people are doing. I'm not trying to brag, but seriously, I know people personally who can play way better than this and even compose way better than this who ARE NOT famous at all. :/

pop music has a different purpose. It's for partying, getting motivated, etc. And it conveys less complex emotions. This is attempting to convey deep emotions, but just playing the same chords over and over again with insanely long pauses in between isn't really a brilliant expression of art. Trust me, If you mess around with chords for a few days, you'll realize you can improvise things just as good or better. I guarantee it.

I do think that everyone feels different emotions towards a particular song.I was moved to point of tears! Others maybe not.but do NOT suddenly declare this piece 'not brilliant'. If art isnt expressed the way you want it to be , it's suddenly 'NOT BRILLIANT'!?!! dude, my friend who's been playing the piano for 1 year can play this. I just heard it once, and I can play the chords. Anybody can play the same chords over and over again and improvise over them. It's not an incredible talent or anything...

I'm not trying to be offensive or anything, but most people that don't have much experience and think they can "play the song" are usually too inexperienced to see their own mistakes... or are too cocky to reveal otherwise.... but if that guy can actually play this song, dead on without mistakes, and if you can actually play the chords to the song, good for you :)

It's not about how complex it is. It's just that emotions are DEEP. Playing the same chord progression over and over and over again doesn't really do it for me. It may be cool, and it's definitely a step in the right direction, but it's not genius. It's not like he's actually conveying strong emotions, he's just playing chords and putting insanely long pauses in between sections. That doesn't convey strong emotions to me, unless I'm in a drug induced trance or something.

I can appreciate how this is emotional...but what makes it emotional is not the music itself...it's the thoughts that YOU create to go with it. Does that make sense? When you listen to pop music, you don't just sit in a chair, close your eyes, and listen. you have to dance to it :D you have to feel it. Otherwise it's boring and repetitive.
