Angle was released from WWE because I believe he wanted to take some time off because of being on the road so much and the abuse on his body. I believe he said something to McMahon that he felt he deserved it and Vince said and I quote from Kurt Angle himself "An Olympic gold medal and a cup of coffee don't mean shit." Then Kurt got really mad and asked for his release. I could be wrong on Kurt's full reason but I'm sure that's part of it.
