  • I dream using Haiku with KDE 5 on my laptop.

  • круто

  • Absolutely perfect netbook OS, right down to the minimalistic widgets and icons. Asus and others should be funding and bundling haiku!

  • Fastest OS as usual.

If only the Haiku developers could pick up their pace, then perhaps BETA will be ready before Duke Nukem Forever is released.

  • weird music. its like from DOS adventure game.

  • @damnhereiam Yep, it is :)

  • yah.. nice but we-we passed the win 95 age ..... and Pentium || CPU so this os is supposed to impress whit simplicity or inability to have what i need and like ? Different is cool but complete and useful is better :P

  • Hopefully the Wifi-Stock will soon allow at least the use of WEP-Encryption - then Haiku would gonna be my fav. OS for use with my 900A. =)

  • Hi. it already have WiFi support! And working pretty well!

Unfortunately, only for Open network, not working with either wep or wpa2. Not yet. :P

  • @eumegaf Yeah I know - I even made it to compile SVN latest on the aplha 1 build, but I am dualbooting Haiku with OSx86 (10.6.2) wherefor I replaced the Atheros-card with a BCM4311 chipset one (working as Apple Aiport) and as Broadcom doesn't allow to redistribute their Firmware you have to extract it manually, what I haven't managed using Haiku yet. Anyway as there is not encryption currently I stoped working on that - as I wrote: once at least WEP works I'd be a happiest Haiku user. ;D

  • I think Haiku and React have potential.

The name Haiku could change to a name that's more simple to remember.

    BeOs was easy to remember.

Just wish they would get out of Alpha.

Their definitely better than any Linux or Unix, I've seen.

  • @CrewRite

I think the name "Haiku" is pretty easy to remember. It's simple, short and easy to pronounce.

  • Very cool video. I am going to wait a while to see what machines run Haiku, then I can get a Haiku / Linux box.

  • Sheesh...how about a super quick startup? Gonna try this on my main for sure.

  • Just install it, theres no secret at all, and now they released the Alha1, theres a LiveCD, so its quite easier to install it.

  • now I know what I am going to do with my EEE when I get one. by the way, how are the intel video drivers coming? I might be thinking of Zeta, but the last time I used one of the two, the video was all fucked up on my intel chipset.

  • not very well, the intel linux drivers are not too good.

    the 2D is ok,

all 3D work on Haiku is done via software.

  • Can you get wifi on an Eee PC? I want to try it on my Eee PC 1000HE!!!

  • Wifi support is coming, its already working if you build the wifi stack yourself.

  • When will Haiku be released with a fully working Wifi stack?

  • howd you install? ugh! when will they make a stupid .iso!

  • They'll probably make it when it comes out of pre-alpha.
