I stopped subscribing to cable 10 yrs. ago & have never looked back. #1 reason:largely deplorable content #2: COMMERCIALS. Being hawked to before & during what you wish to watch dilutes the experience for me. Hope this site doesn't go that way...

I can't see them putting Paris or any other advertisement as a lead in to every video. They would surely see a huge drop off in viewing and probably lose a lot of YouTube talent. Would you quit YouTube in protest if they did this?

NolaTom: I don't think they will. I don't know if I would quit in protest, but I would definitely quit in frustration. I wouldn't be able to deal with watching ads. I stopped watching tv altogether for this reason.

Paperlilies: I love how people from all over the world get together and discuss common themes here. And yes, that would suck hard if they did that, but I'm sure they know that they would completely be shooting themselves in the neck if they take that approach to advertising. Keep up the good stuff. :)

Good points. Of course, when I posted my vids the system wasn't nearly as screwy as it is now. I'd still like to see her be herself.

And I do definitely understand problems with your back. Put a heat pad on it and alternate with cold. Aleve is the best (IMO) for joint pain.

Good video, and I agree with you. I don't particularly care for Paris Hilton, or the fact that she's here, but if it helps YouTube to fix, and continue to upgrade the site, and keep it free for the rest of us, then I don't have a problem with it. It's their site, and their right.

I 100% agree with you view on YouTube allowing adverts. I'm guessing she does pay for that, but let's say you or even some larger YouTube celebs wanted to advertise in their vids buy endorsing and telling a bit about a product in his/her vids. That would break the terms of service especially for those of us that have Director accounts. Your views on that?

LoneAscender: Excellent point. My opinion and desire my conflict slightly here. My desire is that there are no advertisements within any of the videos we see. Now, music videos bring up another issue though, because they are both an art form and an advertisement. As for my opinion, I think that if youtube allows advertisements in videos, we should be allowed to do so as well, as far as a personal rights point of view goes.

LoneAscender: I may not be able to fully respond to this here (maybe I need to do another vid!). I also don't want to be banned if I mention in some vid that have t-shirts for sale for the Healing Network. Is this selling out? I don't believe so. But at what point it goes to far is a sticky question. I'm hoping that opening discussions like this will elicit intelligent responses which can help us answer these questions. Thanks for watching.

I will not discuss it in public yet, as it is not totally ready, but that would be a place if a person were to mention something OurTube may find as an advert, they would have no say! I would never want it to become a place to advertise, but a plug here and there would not be frowned upon. I guess I'm trying to circumvent people not really being able to say what they think in fear of banishment from the site by Youtube. Take Care, ~ Mason Marshall
