my mom's yaris hauled 700 pounds of cheese as well with the both of us. It still handled pretty well and gas milage probably fell from 46 to 40...boo hoo. lol. The car is amazing!!! If I didn't need my FJ for winter commuting, i'd definitely own a yaris. Ours is a black fully loaded one that's clocked almost 30k miles in a little over a year.
Wow, seven hundred pounds of cheese? I would like to have seen that! Ha, ha! The Toyota FJ Cruiser is a really cool truck. If I had an excuse (and the spare cash) to own one, I probably would. Enjoy your vehicles!
i dont think you need power windows, since its only a 2 door and its small, I can easily stretch a roll down the passenger windows. 2010 comes with VSA, wao! the fit? no, the fit fully equipe is more 1000dlls than a yaris and if you want VSA you must get that overpriced none dvdplayer navi for almost 2k! I'll stick with the yaris. Also theres projector headlmaps and L.E.D taillamps for it, cool, no more halogen ligths,
Hello. To my knowledge, the seats can not be folded flat to the floor on any model of the Toyota Yaris. I think that the seats can be folded in 60/40 sections, but for the four door sedan model only. I am not an expert, so take my information with a grain of salt. If you're looking for cargo diversity, you might consider the Honda Fit. The seats fold flat and in sections. Plus, I think it has more cargo room to offer. I hope that helped!
@coolboxbueno I realize I'm replying to a 1 year old post, but the 60/40 seats are only available on some trims. The one in this video is just the bench seat, which I have). The seats don't fold to the floor, but 60/40 seats do fold flat (you can see in the video that the seats are slightly higher than the cargo area floor).
I'm 6'3.5" and about 255lbs. I'm not sure I'll ever have the seat all the way up on anything, let alone a hatchback. Knowing the car as well as you guys do, do you think I'd fit, with the seat being in the rearward position of course ;-) This is one of the cars I'm considering buying. I'm looking for economy these days. It seems any vehicles designed around bigger guys are not built with economy in mind, but I'm hoping to find one that works. Thank you sir for your fine videos.
Thanks for the compliment! My little brother is your approximate height and weight, and he seemed to fit in it just fine; but he never actually drove it. He just sat in the drivers seat. To answer your question, I think you could fit, but I don't know if you would be comfortable. Best of luck to you!
Meteorite Metallic was available in 2008, I have one,a hatchback too. The poster stated he has the sedan version of the 2009 Yaris . They do come in different colors from the hatchbacks.
woah? only 12,600? is that brand new?, is that lease? coz i live in new jersey and here it was like 17,000 brand new yaris?...hmmm...why is it only 12,600?..
Hello and yes. The car is brand new and has been purchased. It isn't a lease. Sales tax may be significantly higher in New Jersey, but that shouldn't effect the price of the car itself.
My car is very minimal. No power windows, seats, or locks. All options on this car have already been mentioned in the "more info" section of my first video. Be sure that the model you are looking at doesn't have added features that mine lacks.
I took the Chevy Aveo and Honda Fit into consideration. The Suzuki Swift is another competitor of the Toyota Yaris, but I never got the chance to really look at one in person.
That's correct, and I apologize for not disclosing that information in the film. The kennel was turned sideways because the seat belt thingie for the center passenger got in the way with the kennel upright. Even if that hadn't been a problem, the "lip" that is formed when the seat is folded down would have prevented the kennel from sliding in further. With the kennel turned sideways, the dog has more room to lie about. It's ability to stand, however, would be more limited.
Thanks so much for posting this! I think my larger dog's crate is just slightly smaller than your rottie's so it's good knowing it will fit. I actually got to test drive a Yaris today *crossing fingers that financing will be approved* and if all goes well I should be able to pick it up sometime next week! I'm also getting the 5-door which I think is slightly larger.
can my german shepherd fit in it??

Can the back seats be folded all the way flat to the floor?
And can they be folded 60/40 or do you have to pay extra for that feature?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

@coolboxbueno This video shows that back - it looks pretty flat, level with the floor of the back (not the floor of the rear passenger area):

I have a 2009 Toyota Yaris but it's not a hatchback. The color of it is only for 2009, why is that. BTW, I forget the name of the color.
Midna 2 years ago
The color is "Metallic Meteorite". I wasn't aware of the fact that this color was only available for the 2009 year. Interesting.

The 1st (Large) dog kennel is put in the car sideways, floor's on the right side. Too tall to fit regularly?
