  • smaller gear ratio equals higher top speed, higher gear ratio equals more acceleration but less top speed. 2.73's pull less hard than 3.73's. but will top our higher.

  • dude u got it backwards lol a b16 trans will pull harder than an ls trans because 1-3 on the b16 are shorter gears..the ls has long gears...a b16 will pull harder but will top out sooner than an ls..the ls wont pull as hard but will top out higher than a b16 trans..u dont need to post anymore trying to tell me whats what..learn ur stuff bud

  • yeah but you want a longer gear ratio tranny for boost so u can stay in boost longer. short gear trannys good for all motor. if you have a short you'll fall out of boost when shifting. it all depends

  • If you getting a thicker head gasket your also going to lose power and have to turn up the boost to compensate.

  • yea after being tuned i got a type r on 12 psi untuned my boy has a ls on 10 psi untuned cuz anymore he will blow the motor and my high compression aint a bad thing I rape every car I race but I also haven't put it on the track yet so I haven't met my match yet i guess lol

  • @SlipshT incorrect. a thicker head gasket puts more space between the head and piston, lowering compression, and lowering power. Safer though for a turbo engine. This is why most turbo engines have lower compression than naturally aspirated engines.

  • i have a b16asir2 all motor runs 14.2 o yeah its a 4dr i swap it into a lx im goig to turbo it soon 12.9 in a 4dr would be nice

  • Yes the car had a LS tranny in it. I also eased into it because this video was used in my for sale ads to demonstrate it boosting and the shift light (check engine light flashing at 8k) working. On the street launching at 4500rpm the car would spin through first, spin through second and catch traction in 3rd. The car was sold to a guy in Atlanta who put in a built ls/vtec and now is hitting 380whp right now.

  • People fail to realise that this car has a LS tranny in it. The LS tranny is the longest geared ratio of the Honda Trannys. So yeah it would get into boost quicker with a shorter gear ratio tranny. who cares? he has a turbo'd B16 unlike alot of you other 16 year olds. hahaha.

  • I have a N/A SiR B16 in my 96 civic DX and it runs 12.9 at 110 on street tires and I just turned 17. :) It gets to 100 faster than this one does.

  • Come on, sounds like you don't know much about cars. It was a b16 with a rev limit of 8500rmp set my me in my tune. The shift lift was set at 8000rpm and I used the check engine light to flash as a shift light. I used Crome and I tuned the car myself and chipped the ecu myself. I sold the car, this video was used to sell the car, so I didn't get on it that hard, I just used the video to show it ran with no problems. I have a SR20 s13 now that would walk circles around my last Honda.

  • It was a b16. The car is sold. I love all the hater comments, it just makes me laugh. The car was quick enough to hang beside a 02 Camaro SS. This video wasn't from a dig and I wasn't beating the crap out of it because I was in the process of selling it. This video was to demonstrate that the car ran with no problems.

    I'm messing with a SR20 in a s13 now. If you don't like that either I'll take my lift Jeep TJ and run over you and your little CRX :)
