The important thing to understand is that covering a song is NOT always about capturing the feel or emotion of the original. It's about expressing one's OWN emotion through that song. In that regard, this is a fresh take on a beautiful piece of music. And in it's own right, it's very very good. I'll take this over Rihanna singing an emotionless karaoke version of the song in a heartbeat.

Its true, there might be something about the phrasing or the tone.. but the piece overall is very listenable and spoken 142 adds something for sure. The first time i heard a cover of this song I was stunned, didn't know it was Marley ... it was so charged with meaning. Later it just added to my appreciation of the original.
