I am living proof that voice can be achieved all with training. One thing to note also I have a lot of ts friends and very few are ascommitted totransition as me! Realistically it took me 3+ years to get to where I am now. tip: cup your ear so u can hear yourself very clearly‚ when you can hear more clearly its easier to adjust!
Not entirely accurate. When the male vocal folds thicken there is a limit to how high a frequency they will be able to achieve. Pre-puberty, I could easily use my whistle register. Today, on my best day, I can just hit an E5. Anything higher is gone. Of course one only needs to get in the A3 range to sound female, but you still end up limited in certain regards with spontaneous sounds (laughing, screaming, etc.)
I have noticed that the older I get the harder it is to maintain the hight voice. I have been Sir more now then when I was younger. I have never smoked.
You know, you just explained that really well... my voice never really changed and people are surprised that I really haven't done any work to sound the way I do. I guess I just never let my voice break and always kept my muscles working the same way... because I *can* go lower if I want to, but i have to work at it.
i have been doing character voices all my life and the female voice comes completely naturally to me ... i slip in and out of the male/female every day of my life just as you mentioned...
