Wow happy 45th birthday to this truck and its twin!! Man that's a long time for a garbage truck to be around...enjoyed watching this again! They still own these two right? I couldn't see them from google in the yard, unless they're stored inside..?

Wonder if SCD's hiring LOL, wouldn't it be neat to work in a yard where trucks nearly 50 years old rest, to be able to just dust one off would be an honor :D

Wow, it sure is impressive to see a truck perform the duties that it was built to perform! i am in so much awe of how that garbage truck actually LIFTED a dumpster, and even poured the contents into, not the front, but the BACK of the truck! WTF!

Damn! thats an awesome vid! my grandpa's first trash truck was a 1959 Mack cab over with a 300 scandia (renault) engine and a Gower 20 yard body, chain driven, and a 2 piece blade.

Orginally when my grandpa bought the truck it had a REO six cylinder engine in it but he swapped it out for the chevrolet 427. However we do still hav a brand new REO crate engine in stock.

What a big strange chunky looking truck,it does look funny with only one set of duals in the back,but its still a fine and beautifull piece of garbage history.I never have understood the reasoning behind making a packer like that.
