Really enjoyed wayching you play! I'd love to post some videos as well and was wondering how you get the audio from the tunes you are playing into the video? Are you using a mixer? Any help you could give me would be great. Thanks and again...Great job!
how come most americans hold the stick weirdly in their left hand
nothing wrong with it but im english and me and most ppl i know who learnt to drum in england play palm downish in their left hand(im not sure if 'palm down' is the correct terminology)
Great cover, although I think you also cover Stewart's enthusiasm when you cover his playing haha. Naw man, you did your thing. I'm a bass player and I wouldn't have a problem jammin wit ya. Be easy.
It sounds a lot of the time as if you are doing one handed flams on the snare drum....really tight little drags. Is this correct? Great performance, adds to the original.
Very nice. The accenting is the hardest part here and is excellent. Listening to you I see that it's really tough to get that tiny lift on the hi-hat Copeland uses to get the oh-so-subtle accents he does.
Good choice on your favourite band! I love the Police and they to, are my fave band!
I love your kit and I would love a medium sized one with loads of cymbals so do you have any tips? However, me only being 14 and grade 5 money is always a bother :( !
Well done! (P.S are you a fulltime drummer or what? If you aren't you should be!)
I was 14 with no money once! Just save! These drums are the low end Tama's from 94, I saved up forever for them and they've lasted through everything I've thrown at em for 15 years now! So buy something that's quality and it will take care of you. Cymbals- I've bought few used ones over the years, including the ride & hats that I play and have had them for almost 20 years now. Don't be afraid to go used so long as they're in great shape.
I unfortunately do not play FT, doesn't pay the bills!
@specialanthony you SHOULD find a band and play fulltime, or get sponsored by Vic Firth or something. You got real skills. I've been playing for three years, and I can definitely say that you're an awesome drummer.
Awesome playing. Great to see you perform these songs. You are an amazing drummer. I am wondering, do you figure out the drum sections or you can get the tabs? If so, where? Thanks.
The ride is a 70's era 22" Zildjian A medium ride, nothing special. I bought it used and eventually took it to a metalshop to have them refinish it. Made it beautiful looking but it also completely changed the sound- got alot more glassy after that. It has a ton of wash and overtones but it's pretty versatile.
superb job on this. awesome hi hat work, just like copeland. also a very interesting sticking style in your left hand, it almost seems you hold it more loose than a regular traditional grip? but once again great job. this vid inspired me to record my cover of this!
Stewart Copeland fanatic. Started lessons two years ago. what's a good kit for beginners? What exercise can I do for practicing 16th notes? Thanks in advanced! I hope to play "Deathwish" before I leave this earth!
Tama is a great kit for beginners- I'm still playing my Rockstar kit from the mid 90's- it's held up incredibly well! There are other kits that will be a little cheaper, but if you can get a set of Rockstar shells, you probably won't ever need anything more than that!
16th notes- single stroke, double stroke rolls, and paradiddles are my favorite rudiments to practice speed and dexterity. :)
Thanks! I've been playing for 19 years now (which blows my mind). I haven't been active in a band for about 5 years though, just playing in my little drum closet when I can. :)
traditional grip too! nice, true Stewart fan!
