  • because I had been so afraid to tell her. She said she loved me more than anything and that if god couldn't except me than he wasn't the god she believed in.

One persons acceptance can mean all the difference in someones life.

  • I spent 6 years in the closet, in fear and depression. Not because I was afraid that my family wouldn't except me but that my mother wouldn't. Growing up she was my loving idol and hero. But the thought of telling her and her no longer loving me crushed my soul. I often wanted to commit suicide and wished i had never been born. Eventually I did tell her, thinking that if she didn't except me at least i could die knowing i tried. She cried, not because i was gay but

  • one of the best movie, iam not emotinoal person but this movie makes me to hry so hard, it just because i relate myself in to this movie as iam trying to come out,

being a indian guy life is bit hard but sort of movie like prayers for bobby the trip gave me confidance and make me feel so better

  • Lifetime for wemen and gay men....

  • i would go in that church house thing and drag her moldy crusty ass

  • in my family, as long as your happy, we are happy. how ever you find love, we are happy that you have found someone to be with. we do not title someone gay, or lesbian, or bi or trans, we simply look at them as if it were a man and a women. Being gay or lesbian is not what people perceive it do be. Just because another man finds pleasure in another man does not mean that they find pleasure in you. I wan people to know that we are all human, and never ever to be ashamed of who you are.

  • @rawrxrawr1324

You are blessed with a wonderful family my friend!

I've been thanking my Dad lately, because when I was

dating Bobby and things for him at home were rough,

my kind, macho, college football playing Dad would

allow Bobby to sleep over with us quite often! My Dad has

always been secure in his masculinity and very ahead of

    his time!

    Cheers!

  • wow - that's just amazing... I wish I could hit the like button over and over and over! I think alot more of the ignorant people could watch this...

  • Beautiful speech. It made me cry just listening to her talk.

  • just makes my heart break so much to know this happens and was a real true story.

  • i come from a family where my parents and brothers see gays as an illness and abnormality.. my parents and sister died w/o realizing that gays are people.. just like anyone else.. up until now my elder brother still view gays as such weirdos.. not as a person ...

  • Tenderest of blessings...

  • What a beautiful movie! Unfortunately this film was made only for TV. I think it deserved international/theatrical fame.

Sigourney Weaver was wonderful here. Her acting was brilliant.

  • amazing performance, hands down.

  • This scene is incredible. Sigourney Weaver should get a Golden Globe for this. It was a brilliant and soul-searching performance.

  • This movie makes me love, love, love Sigourney Weaver. I didn't fully appreciate her until this movie. She put so much effort into this role; it's breathtaking. She honed every expression to its maximum effect - nothing is random. She is now an honorary "gay person"

  • She is one of the great secrets of Hollywood right from the start.

  • I love this speech coz it's really insperational 2 mii. i always cry when i hear this speech.

  • This part of the movie made me cry when I watch it. But it's a very powerful speech.

What does the quote "Before you echo "Amen" in your home or place of worship, think, think and remember a child is listening"

what does that mean? I think its so powerful like the whole speech

  • The "normal, charitable" Christian response to homosexuality is to pray that that person be "healed" and turned back from sin to the community. In the view of the gay person it is a condemnation of what he or she sees as their core personality, which they can't change. The "Amen" is an agreement to that prayer uttered by the congregation. She is asking them to understand what exactly it is they are doing to their congregant, and even to others in the congregation still in hiding.

  • In one's prayers to a theological indoctrination of spirit, do not believe so unaware. In a role of religious authority there is great influence; great impact on the development of the soul itself, especially of any young child within the traditionalist environment. Take heed of this reality, by 'my' (Sigorney Weaver's character) example of not questioning when confronted with what I was never taught to expect_ we each have a much larger responsibility. Be open to possibility within faith...

  • Can someone load up Bobby's death?

  • It fits perfectly Prop 8 Musical line "There's millions lost from all your disapproving".

Geez, I tried it once. Did almost the same as Bobby. Mom doesn't know it yet, hopefully she never will. It was a day after I told her.

Why? Why do they do this to their children? Why do they do this to us?
