  • We still have about 80,000 missing from WW2 , and it's good when they can be found and returned or at least their families know where they are. While doing some family research I located one of our Norwegian relatives who had died in our Civil War. He had been lost for some 140 years. My father had always thought his family had no one in that war, because most had arrived later. His name was Andreas Ellefson and was in Company "C" of the 15th Wisconsin, which was all Sacandinavian.

  • It's good that they can get them home. Does the VBGO ever find remains of missing American, British, or Canadian soldiers ?

an the eastern front normally allied soldiers didn`t fought. Only allied planes. There are some informations about allied planes, but hard to find.

We found an american soldier on the western front (Saarland). I can send you some peace of paper (but in german) about this. American authorities came to take his body and to inform his family.
