I wouldn't say a hyzer is a fav of beginners. I would say beginners accidentally throw a hyzer because they think of it too much like a frisbee not a disc. In doing so they must play off that hyzer and correct their shots to get it to go where they want(though that's more of just starting out beginner).

We met Elaine King at the Shoot The Breeze Open at Lakeshore Park in Ashtabula, Ohio.

She was very personable and had encouraging words for the throwers. Elaine King is an excellent addition to the Discraft team.

what does the number below her name, on the back side of the disc mean? I found a disc with someones name and it had a 4 digit number. What info does this convey?

It's usually a PDGA number, you can go to PDGA's member directory, type in that number, and find their contact info. a 4 digit number means that they have been a member for a long time, so they're probably pretty experienced.
