It's just the picking style that they used at that part. Not a big deal, a lot of different bands have used that chugging riff. It's basically a thrash staple riff.

Reminds me of a few bands. Sabbath of course, Celtic Frost, Slayer, and a touch of Maiden.

Not a lot of ways to efffectively combine these influences, but they've done it. Love The Sword.

The drumming and heavy riff which follows reminds me more of that classic stonerrock we all adore, kinda reminds me of High on Fire with a different type of vocals if you wanted me to say something more nice about your beloved band The Sword.
