Then I saw that there is a piece above the LCD connection that wasn't fitting right. I folded the plastic that holds the 2 pieces together so they could connect and tried again. It no works fine. Hope I explained this well enough !!

  • can you use a iphone 4 home button on a ipod touch 4g

  • hey guys, thanks for that video! i tried and i think i did it all right but now my screen is flickering all white and pink. it still works though, but it gives you a headache. where is the problem? Do I have to redo the whole procedure?

  • I did everything but my screen just turns white then shuts off, whats wrong?

  • did he forgot to put some screws?

  • is it possible just to replace the digitizer. or is the digitizer and screen stuck together?

  • The adhesive on the volume buttons cable was a bit tougher than i thought and it ended up tearing the volume buttons cable. What is the best advice on this situation, is there a way to replace it? Thanks!

  • @kazumatheshellbulet5 Ouch! That is the biggest and worst mistake that can be made while performing this repair. But repairing that cable requires micro-soldering, so if any local electronics repair shop should be able to help you with that. Hope this helps!

  • hey is the copper important? i accidently ripped my camera one.. does it matter? please reply asap would be great!

  • @Raphcoll Hi Raphcoll - You don't have to sweat it the iPod will work just fine without it :)

  • @ICRACKEDiPhoneRepair Could you make a video about iPod Touch 4 housing replacement?

  • @Raphcoll not really...

  • Hi! if I warm up the ipod with the hair dryer when I close the iPod with the new lcd replaced to make it adhere to the glue on the underside may be that the heat melted some circuit device?? the screen before was completely white...and now doesn't power on!! :(

    Sorry 4 my english! ;)

  • @MrLollo90 Hi Lollo!- Heating up the iPod with a hair dryer would not affect the iPods ability to power on. Without seeing the iPod myself, I'm assuming the LCD might have gotten bumped and is not fully connected to the logic board. If you come across a white screen again, try doing a hard reset by holding the power button and the home button simultaneously for 30 seconds and its should reboot correctly.

  • @nene6927 The name of it is Crazy Glue Adhesive, go to CVS and ask if they have it and they probably will have the glue.

  • I did everything he said and it worked perfectly, best tutorial out here, very well explained used this!!!

    THANKS A LOT!

  • Do you have to power it off?

  • best fucking tutorial!

  • Why didn't you turn it on to make sure it worked?

  • I say that glue you use the name please

  • I followed every step in the video but my iPod won't turn on. I took everything out again to make sure that I didn't break any of the cables and to see if the digitizer was actually connected but nothing was broken and the digitizer was connected. Any ideas on what might be wrong? Thanks

  • thas why i got warrenty

  • So i did everything, and made all of the connections.. but I got no power. Any ideas? The screan shows absalutely nothing. Thanks!

  • the foil part is a PAIN IN A

    THE ASS

  • @ljaureguiv It seemed like there wasn't enough glue the first time because the screen looked like it could easily be pulled back out. I think I just pushed on it too hard when trying to press on it to get the glue to harden. Atleast I'd rather look at a small broken LCD bubble on the side of my screen then a cracked screen =]

  • The LCD connecter is a pain in the ass since it won't stay connected as soon as you lift up the touch screen. From trying to put glue on, I slightly messed up the screen and now it looks like a small oval bubble on the side. Other than that, this has been very helpful and my ipod touch is 98% fixed =]

    Thank you!

  • @SomethingMuchHarder5 u probably put too much glue?

  • 2nd gens are so much easyer to fix! Damn technology...

  • Hello i have a questio i have the ipod touch 4g the black screen type and my screen is broken can i buy a white screen replacement and put it in my ipod touch 4g?

inside it's looking pretty good, i didn't hurt anything or demaged the little connecion fom the logic board to the power/loud/quit buttons. seriously, i have no clue what's wrong with it.

  • @chilla3112 i did the same thing. it cant be repaired =/

  • hi i got a ipod 4g 32gb for 36$ it wont turn on becues it has a cracked sccreen

  • Good video.

I have a question, what glue did you use?

    can i use normal glue?

  • Awesome video guys

    But I have a question

Can I send u guys my iPod then u guys fix then send it back?

  • Great Video... I do have a question before I glue mine back together! At 3:22 there is a piece of metal (stuck to the broken glass). You put it off to the side, but I never see you put it back!? The piece of metal is at the top of the Touch and looks like it has 2 big hooks & 1 smaller hook. Do we need to put this back in, or will it function w/o it? Thanks!

  • I accidentlybroke the black ribbon connected to the new digitizer. Do I need to order a new screen?

  • what do i do if i stripped a screw

  • is crazy glue safe to use?

  • my ipod touch screen is cracked not very badly and nothing else is wrong with it but it does get in the way so i was wondering if i bring it in will it work just as well as it did when i brought it in and everything will work nicely.

  • Is it sposet to be like that at the bottom of the iPod at 0:50

  • Where can i get the liquid adhesive you are using?

  • @DimaBrovka Hi Dima -- We actually send out this awesome 3M adhesive that works great with every DIY kit now. Feel free to go on our website and check it out! As always, you can also call our hotline for any help during your repair.

  • I have a question to the IcrackedTeam. My Ipod touch 4g has a broken screen and also the charging port doesn't work on any computer at all. Could you replace the port also?

  • @TheFinalFantasyFan69 Hi FFF -- We do not repair the charging ports at this time.

  • I have a question i got the white ipod 4g but the screen got cracked. Your website only sells black digitizers only but will my ipod still work if i put the black digitizer? Please help

  • @1001christianfelix Hi Christian - The black digitizer will work just fine and we also have white iPod 4th Gen screens on the website now! Best of luck with your repair and don't hesitate to call us for any assistance

  • @ICRACKEDiPhoneRepair thanks!!

  • what should i do if the foil on the steel mid plate breaksoff?

  • @ifixwidgets Hi iFixwidgets - I believe you're referring to the foil that covers the mid plate of the rear facing camera. Although you would want to try and restore the iPod back to its original state, this foil will not affect the performance of the iPod and will still work correctly.

  • thank you very much, best video of this type I´ve seen so far. but something I´m still uncertain about: where can I get new screens from? and do they have something like any special product names I need to know to find them? do mobile phone or electronic equipment shops sell them? does apple do it by itself? or do it´s partners do so? if not: are they even legal? and how much do they cost (from ... to ...) ?

    Thank you in anticipation, james

  • i was broken my camera u_u

  • Hey I was wondering what is the glue really called? (adhesive). And where do you get your parts? Digitizer and LCD

  • @pubboy17 Hi PubBoy -- You can get all of the parts, tools, repair videos, and flowcharts on our website! Feel free to check out our DIY Page!

  • I HAVE THE SAME IPOD AND ITS 8 GB AND ITS A BLACK ONE , MY QUESTION IS CAN I SWITCH THE SCREEN DIGITZER FROM A BLACK TO A WHITE DIGITIZER ? WILL MY IPOD STILL WORK ?

  • @caliwest2011 HI CaliWest! - We can definitely change your iPod to white as the parts are interchangeable. Just make sure you're getting the highest quality of parts

  • @ICRACKEDiPhoneRepair i changed it to white , and everything is good except that my touch screen isnt workking, And i tried restoring it and turn it off but it still doesent work , What should i do ?

  • @caliwest2011 Hi CaliWest - It sound like your digitizer isn't fully connected. Did you hear it snap into the logicboard? I would try a hard reset if you haven't already, see if that helps. If not I would check to see if there' any damage on the digitizer cable or if its not properly connected!

  • @ICRACKEDiPhoneRepair Thanks , it is now Working , Thank you very much

  • @caliwest2011 Okay everything is working except my camera , like it just stays on the shutter part , you think theres something wrong with the camera ?

  • Glad we could help you with the parts and video! Feel free to call our hotline if you need any help when doing the repair. As far as your home button question, the home button is held onto the screen assembly with an adhesive "skirt" that you take off your old screen and place it onto the new one. Its very easy and we show you how to do this in the repair video above. This "skirt" allows the homebutton to move freely.

Hope this helps! All the Best,

    -The iCracked Team

  • hi i just odered my kit and i am getting a new home button two, im just wondering how would i put the home button in place with adhesive and still make it move freely? i mean like clicking in. Thanks

  • What adhesive did u use

  • Great Tutorial!! Just did this repair and worked a treat! Had one problem with it and that was it wouldn't turn on I guess because I didn't power down before I started?? But holding down the home and on/off button for 10-15 seconds re started it YAY :-)

  • @irelmo69 Great job irelmo! That's exactly right - If for some reason your iPhone, iPod, or iPad is not turning on, attempt to do a "Hard Reset" holding the power button and home button at the same time for 30 seconds and its should reboot the phone. This will happen if you do not power off the device before beginning the repair. Not to worry though as it will not affect the performance of your device!

  • can u use some thing else then the heat gun

  • @thekidaossthesteet Yes you can use a standard iron as shown in this video!

  • @ICRACKEDiPhoneRepair how do u deal with these stupid questions!?
