  • Saw them in concert in Providenc R.I. they were 5 ties funkier.

  • 5 people are not under the groove

  • Wicked groove. Dennis Chambers 4:35 (just 21 here) is on drums but the bassist isn't shown. I'm not convinced that I'm hearing Bootsy on bass in this performance - anyone know who played bass on this tour?

  • By the sound of it, this would be Skeet on bass. Now you know Bootsy did not play much live with the PFunk. Too much Bass and Charisma for that.

  • @proctor940 - you're right - Skeet it is - shoulda known :-)

  • Awesome, we miss this kind of madness and creativity in today's music...

  • Hey yo, i'm just out a jail innit, this music is everything to me brudders! Me main main man Steve Bilboa (ex heavyweight champ) recommended it, it sooth away the stresses, but to really enjoy it, ya got to be smoking gangja, yeah man!! Free Nelson Mandela!

  • RIP Gary

  • R.I.P Garry thank U

  • you know why you can't find any p-funk's photos from their time on the web?

because that was the time when people were actually realistic- they knew the photos can't produce sound... so why the fuck photograph the talented motherfuckers... those were the days...

  • hahaah is that a fucking cuica

  • Man, this groove is to die for. If bands still played like this, I'd go to concerts more often. Nothing really gets me like this anymore.

  • Don't understand people who say P.Funk>EWF or vice versa. BOTH ARE orgasmicastical.

This is more funkeh, EWF is more soulful in my opinion...but still comparing good ANY good music is like apples and oranges 0.0

  • From their 1978 LP "One Nation Under A Groove" This is Funkadelic with the title track!!!!!! Get your Funk on!!!! Did You Know=That between 1967 and 1983 they had 13 top ten hits Including 6 #1s......If you dont own this Album or CD...You should be ashamed of yourself!!!!!!!

  • they should honor them at the BET awards

WELL I STAND RIGHT NEXT TO A MOUNTAIN >>>>>>>> AND I CHOP IT DOWN WITH THE EDGE'AH MY HAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    FEET DON'T FAIL ME NOW!!!!!!

    bongobongobongo

  • Real bands with REAL musicians need to come back and not this sample crap. If concerts were this funky today, I'd start going to concerts again.

  • This is the shit but wiping the floor with ewf is a little bit of a stretch

  • no rules bruv

  • I was too young to go to those concerts but I remember back in the day my oldest sister would go and end up m.i.a for a few days!!! I get it now!

  • What is the differenc between Funkadlic and Parliament?

  • FEET DON'T FAIL ME NOW.

  • The band at it's peak. Gary is very sick. I heard he has cancer. Anyone know for sure?

  • ready or not, here we come

    ......getting down on the one

  • I am 18 and this makes me cry out of pity for my generation and generations to come...the golden age has truly ended T_T.....

  • @Ravengaurd6 Nonsense. Look up Hiromi's Sonicbloom for example.

  • ICE CUBE likes this song

  • One World Under a Groove!!!

    ~Break dis New World Order~

  • Who was the guy with that deep, deep voice in the parl.-funk albums? I liked promental, another song off this album, too. Seems to me that in this musical era that we were generally happier, hardier, and less violent.

  • ray davis?

  • Talk about transported back to high school daysWhew! Basement / block parties, huge refer/weed clouds, base-line thumping, parents banging on ceiling, turn that down or off! pitch black w/ red light, Puma/Pro-Keds shoes, giant afros, girls in skin-tight pants w/ vpl, grinding on u all night. The kids have better technology, but I think we had more fun Did u catch that "WHAT" at the start- can u say "Lil John" - immitation is the sincerest form of flattery....I ain't hatin-Great post!

  • fuckin groov

    killin guitar

  • Oh lady--PLEASE. The only funk you know anything about is how you smell, you cow.

  • Every popular music form today was created by blacks. everything from country to pop to rock. we didn't just create rap. if anyone stole anything it was white people

  • Don't think we need to be racist. Music was created by all races to be enjoyed by all races!

  • i wasn't being racist at all, I was simply replying to a comment which was in fact racist

  • That's great then because i hate any form of racism. i have friends of all races and it is their friendship and who they are which matters to me not where they come from or the colour of their skin. Glad we agree!!

    One Nation.............under a Groove!!!!!

  • Yeah, damn them rythm stealing honkies

  • Here's my chance to dance away...Do,do de yo do,do ye o do, do ye yo do..."

  • Ha ha ha ... Real music!

This is real music! Thanks for posting this.

No matter how stupid they were trying to look wearing those costume, they sound so pure. Their love to music is pouring.

And they look quite sane while folks wearing suits in Wall Street look seem so insane and devoid of funk.

  • Gary Shider in his Prime...

George comes out with a drink during the guitar solo - awesome

  • Ha! I never noticed that before!!

  • Do you promise to funk the whole funk and nothing but the funk?

  • went to the concert in Manchester in 77 ,me and my mate the only white guys in the house, wow wot a nite thank u 4 the groove,Mark H

  • man that guy reminds me of my dad

  • can't some of you musicians out there learn something from these vids and plse make music like this again??

  • I was so in there!!!! We partied our azzez OFF!!!

  • in 1977 we bucked the trend of punk rock and layed our alliegances firmly with FUNK rock we lived the dream funk on PFUNK ! long live daves all soul disco, DJ superfly and the east coast Lowestoft and Gt Yarmouth !! Funk on groovers !

  • Get doooown ! This reminds me of disco in Panama in the 1970s ! Thanks !

  • make my funk the P funk !!!!!!!

  • It's over 35 yrs. that I've been P Funkin & thx to this group of incredibly undefined talent that keep my feet thumpin on THE ONE!!!! They've brought heaven to earth...totally unconstricted till I ride the Mothership......

  • Feet don't fail Me now!

  • In this song, it sounds like the drums and rhythm guitars are playing a completely different song than the singers. its kinda funny

  • Nah, thats the guitar line. For some reason they do sound a little empty though. The drums start out playing the right beat but at the end he is playing what he wants.

  • you clicked on the most orgasmic band in the unkown universe baby!!

  • Damn skippy. Couldn't have put it better myself!

  • i ain't your baby!

    you pedophile!!

  • your a retard, and that wasn't funny. I clicked on this because it was #500 on the Rolling Stones 500 top songs ever. And its a good song.

  • i wasn't trying to be funny, i clicked this becus it was n the related links on the side

  • Your Chance 2 Dance Your Way out of Your Constrictions!

  • IS THAT GLEN OR GARY SINGING LEAD

  • That's Gary, Glen had already left the group died by the time this was performed

  • Is bootsy playing in this concert? I cant identify him

  • No, that's Rodney Skeets Curtis, and that brotha can make it FUNKeh

  • Nah, that is Rodney Skeet playing bass. Bootsy played his own set the concert before this one if I'm not mistaken.

  • The World's Greatest Funk!!!

Long Live the Parliament Funkadelic baby!!!!!

  • Did you see that guy get head-butted at 2:41??!! LOL, WTF?

  • Pure funk.

  • Ugh just noticed this was in DC. Sorry

  • What year was this? I just bought the 1976 Houston concert and was wondering if this was on there.

  • If Obama wins, this WILL BE the first song played at the dance. Me and a few of the boys in D.C. are going to do our best to make it happen. We'll be one nation under a groove, getting down for the funk of it. One nation on the move. NOTHING can stop us now!!!!!!

  • One Nation. yes and don't forget Chocolate City!

  • Fuck yeah man, I hear that!

  • Funk MAster!!( i bow)

  • When I die, I want people to grieve for about 5 minutes, and then I want THIS song to spontaneously start playing at the cemetary - whereby everyone will just start dancing and forget all about me.

  • Ill toast to that- bottoms up!

  • great idea...no more of that lame funeral music I want something FUNKY playin...fo sho

  • @eskimoposh dude, i think you couldn't be dead that much, not to be able to dance on that...

  • this was the best band ever even sly, beatles, EWF, isleys, cream, pink floyd, rolling stones, led zepplin, barkays, cameo, commodores, and anything that motown did.

  • P-Funk still plays about 200 dates a year. EWF was good, but P-Funk has and can still wipe the stage with them. Tyrone Lampkin, Jerome Brailey and Dennis Chambers for Christ's sakes vs. Maurice White on drums? Eddie Hazel, Mike Hampton on guitar. Bootsy. Skeet Curtis. You can't out funk the P. No way.

  • Funk created the gods, and we SHALL return!

  • i love this song!?! do you

  • me too!

  • me too!

  • What s difference years make. I saw them New Years Eve of 2007 in DC and boy....it made me cry. The age is showing on their live show. But We Must Keep The PFunk Groove Alive....Live on Funkatiers..

  • maaaaaan you should hear the way skeet plays this shit on the live at the beverly theatere cd ...bad ass sheet maaaan, especialy when he locks up wit gary's riffs,.. get it and enjoy.....ok bye

  • Give me a pair of skates and I'm rollin!!!!

  • no9w it's all up in the zone!
