butchscorner, you're right. Anyone can run a digital show with the right training. Now that we have digital projectors installed, all we have to do is click on the mouse. A hard drive's delivered by the distributor & we upload it onto the digital projector's server. Thursday evening or friday morning we make up the programme and compile a list of all the adverts & trailers which come separately on USB memory sticks or CD's. Now it looks like they will cut down on projectionists. Redundancies
What will happen to the Projectionist with the new system of Hard Drive video that's now being used? Looks like any kid can run this system. Am I wrong? There is no film to load just turn on the projector and sit back.
This is the old school method of lacing up -ie lacing up to the projector, pulling all the leader through so it's on the floor in a heap and then finishing lacing back to the platter).
I was always taught to lace up from and back to the platter first and THEN lace up the projector.

This projection is different to the one we use at Cineworld in Bradford, but the lace up method is still the same.
