  • Newest versions of UDK do not use the Archetype property or the UTGameCrowdAgent.

    Instead there is a field called 'Crowd Agent List' type/copy the following into that field to get it working, you can delete the UTCrowdAgent from your level.

    GameCrowd_ListOfAgents'UTExamp­leCrowd.CrowdLists.ExampleCrow­dList'

    *A note if you copy this. The line you copy is on 2 lines in this comment and therefore delete the '-' from the line separation. It will delete everything in the field if there is a - *

  • I followed everything in the tutorial up until you had to tell the UT Crowd Spawner in Kismet what archetype to use. The archetype property didn't even show up in the list when I clicked on the UT Crowd Spawner. I think I might have a later version of UDK than you, but do you know why I might not be seeing it?

  • HEY !! i think i am the first one of us who found what the problem is!:D okey u will need 2 do everything raven sad and then! :DDD ( i just figurd it out :D ) go to the Kismet and press the UTCrowd spawner and scroll down for the crowd agent list and type:GameCrowd_ListOfAgents'UT­ExampleCrowd.CrowdLists.Exampl­eCrowdList' and the open actor classes then go down to the gamecrowdinteractionpoint then find the gamecrowdrepulsor and then add it on ur map and just simply walk on it! U R WELCOME!!

  • hmm this is realy strange... there is no Archtypes in the March edition ( if u downloaded the march UDK it wont work) but in the exemple map u got an crowd running beneth ur foot... ive tried to copy the exempe maps "options" in the unrealKismet but it still wont work... WTF?! (" MABYE" ) mabye: i cant find the Ut crowd agent in the axemple map... mabye u wont need it in the march eddition and u will need 2 do it in an other way... i will try 2 solve this problem and paste it here :D

  • When I am in the Kismet and click on UT Crowd Spawner, there is no Agent Archetypes in the list of properties...

  • @xx7shadow7xx to you and every body, in kismet look for 'Crowd Agent List', select the 'Bishop Crowd archetype in the content browser, and hit the green arrow in the crowd agent list row. your crowd should now spawn nicely

  • @Rubensaccnt i had to use the example crowd list in the browser window in order to get the agents to spawn everyone's may different though

  • @treysaye Okay, any of the ideas below work for me, what i have done a little mix with your idea.

    What i did was in the "Crowd Agent list" link the "ExampleCrowdList", and later edit the "ExampleCrowdList" from propeties, linking the "UTGameCrowdAgent" into "Agent Archtype" and "GroupMembers". To do that, i needed to create an archetype with that "UTgamecrowdAgent" from the actor clases, so, i can found the archetype in the content browser..

    I'm not sure if i explained it good, hope youcanuseit

  • dude creating an archetype of the crowd agent is way better you can change the skeletal mesh their behaviour and al that shit i have posted some tutorials i downloaded maybey they work a bit better

  • I did everything you said to do but when I preview it, all of the archetype copies just stand there. Even though the yellow line from my spawn point to my kill point is visible. (Not on preview mode.)

    If you have joined the forum then your ready to go. Just go the udk section and once your signed in you can create new topics by just typing in name of the topic then below that your message. Once that's done hit create new topic. And your topic will be made.

  • why do you always type in the names of the assets you want to be linked in kismet? just select the actor and then hit the green arrow on the right to the textfield :)

  • i was in kismet editor and put in utcrowd spawner, level loaded, and game crowd interaction destination in, made the ut game crowd agent, but when i went back to kismat the window wasnt open in the bottom left to type in. plz help thanx for your time

  • hmm? Well I would suggest a re-install then if it's not there. Check in actor class.

  • Nice! But I'm having problems with lighting, I have ticked the dynamic box but they still display black. Any idea what I've done wrong?

  • Hmmm... Did you rebuild the lighting?

  • Hmmm. OH Did you go to kismet. Open the UTCrowd Spawner And right above where you can turn the agent shadows on. Click the drop down tab and select dynamic lighting instead of crowd lighting. Or jump to 3:47

  • Em, when they spawn they just stay on place, and i have no idea what is wrong...

  • Did you set the 2nd crowdestination point? Otherwise they just spawn and dont move.

  • Like on this video, only number in name is changed beacouse my crowd destination point is named 3 - 4 and no 0 - 1. Dont know why.

    How do you them massive?

  • They don;t have collision enabled. However you should be able to edit there collision by using the Robot that we used are for like background scenary. But yes you can enable collision.

  • Thanks dude your tutorials have been really helpful. Wondering if you knew anything about modding the engine in the UDK to make mods or new games, the documentatin on that on the interwebs is pretty poor. It would be cool if you could make some tuts on that. Cheers man.

  • Yes I plan to show how to make a game from scratch later on but for right now ima nock out all of the basics while I make assets and whatnot.

  • I am not sure. I do believe this is mostly for cinematic purposes. However I check the UDN and see if there is anyway to make them hostile.
