It seems to me that if privacy is the cornerstone of Roe v. Wade and she supports the right to privacy, that she should not in fact be against Roe v. Wade. If it is reversed, then the individual woman has lost her right to choose, and ultimately her right to privacy. If it remains, the individual is able to privately make her own choices... and let's face it: the overturning of this ruling wouldn't end abortions, anyway-it would just complicate the performing of them, making them more unsafe....

You are mistaking Federalism with Statism. I know it is confusing; the terms seem backwards. Google key words: Unitary State, Federalism, and Confederation. In Federalism; neither the central government nor the states are supreme; they are equal; each has their own sphere. The central government gradually co-opted the authority of the respective states, largely via the 14th Amendment {this is called cooperative federalism}. New Federalism seeks to restore the 10 Amendment. .

Sure, Sarah Palin needs to brush up on her interviewing skills but at least she recognizes that "all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights" including the right "to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Could Couric, Biden, or any other person on the Supreme Court please tell us why these basic principles don't extend to the unborn in this country? If they tried, I'm sure we'd see some really stupid answers.

I have a theory; I believe that most republicans only listen to their candidates, and news programs that are pro-republican. So when said networks tell them something they'll believe it. When they say Dems are like Nazi they'll say, hmm I think so. When they say she was treated unfairly they'll say, well she seemed to have difficulty, so definitely.
It's unfortunate. This is why our founding fathers wanted us to vote for the smartest people around, who would then vote for the Pres/VP.

You are partly right. However, the early Federalist Party certainly acknowledged some state's rights.Palin referred to Federalism though. See Dual Federalism. Compare to Cooperative {co-optive} Federalism, New Federalism, Unitary State, and Confederation. Cooperative Federalism (1930s-1970s) was a movement to co-opt state's rights and centralize power. New Federalism is a movement to de-evolve some power back to the states as existed under Dual Federalism,

I have several conservative and registered republican friends of mine who bolster themselves as being very patriotic. On a weekend get together I decided to test their knowledge on simple stuff, unbeknownst to them. THEY DID POORLY! One of the topics was "how or where the word 'patriot' originated". Nearly all of them referred to it as an american word in origin, and referenced the war of independence. LOL go figure? None knew the names of all 3 branches of government.
