  • Fantastic!!!

  • she had to win...

    no doubt..

  • Esta cantora cipriota chamou-me a atenção logo que participou a primeira vez neste concurso de canções com este título, porque revelou ter muito carisma, uma pose própria e são estes detalhes uqe distinguem os bons artistas dos outros.

  • it's a pitty the bad sound... anyway i became fan of this singer from this time, and when she returned some years after with ime antropos keo song my god ! she's really strong tha's why she retuned to eurovision at least 3 times. 2 singing in greek and one in french...

    kiss from portugal

  • Pure class. Awesome. Stunning dress, stunning performance, stunning song. Topped by her "just had sex" look. This girl knew what she was singing about.

  • Excuse me?????

  • It was funny at the end when the crowd didn't know when to aplaud and she kept singing hehe

  • wow how young does she look?? evridiki her songs are fantastastic . she has a great voice!! should have made into the eurovision final this year . ohh well never mind!!

  • Haha cool! Evridiki represented Cyprus again this year, 2007!

  • I doubt such a seducing number has been seen before or since in Eurovision. (Gotta love Wogan's comment: "She'll smoulder your television set.") She totally plays with the camera. I can't describe this song; it just succeeds what it attempts so spot-on. An entrancing song that grows slowly, slowly, and goes BANG! in the chorus. The ending is also perfect. The audience clearly loved it. Simply wonderful, and a showcase to Cyprus's long repertoire of great Eurovision entries.

  • I was 15 when she first went to the eurovision contest and I honored her by having a big long wank imagining her naked doing wild things to me

  • I was like 14 y.o. by then and she had already been one of my favourite singers. To see her hitting the mike had shocked me that night! What at least made me happy was that she was very well treated by the director! see those great shots? :) Way to go, girl..

  • I've seen videos of her in the Eurovision 1992. In my opinion she looks even better now than she did 15 years ago. I hope she wins in 2007.

  • she was always beyond her time with her eurovsion songs which were brilliant this was my favourite! Shame she hit the mic stand in the middle of the song. I hope she does really well this year.

  • Goodness me - this was 92 and that was 15 years ago and she still looks so incredibly good today. It's not fair, does this woman ever age? If only I can look exactly the same 15 years from now but I know that's not going to happen ... Good luck to her in 2007 - may Cyprus win! I'm voting for her!

  • I actually think she may just win in 2007...

  • can't wait for her 2007 song!!

  • Cyprus gets it better all the time, allthough my real fav is 95 & 00 -love you Alex ;)

  • This girl is explosive! She is is back to WIN in the 2007 eurovision contest!

    Watch the new song.

  • good one

  • Yes, it was very underrated, just like her 1994 entry in my opinion. I hear she's going to participate again for Cyprus in the 2007 contest; that's gotta be good!

  • Yes, and by this point you'll have heard her entry, which I hope will do as well as the polls indicate; I mean, I'm not a big fan of hers personally, but I must say all 3 of her entries have been very good (this one here being the best of the bunch)!

  • Well, I'll hold on for the live performance, because she is a really class performer with a powerful stage presence. I'm growing to like her 2007 song more and more, though the other two are much stronger. I do hope she'll do better this year, though; she'd deserve it. I'm waiting for the night, to see her in full throttle.

  • I saw her live a couple of years ago, doing a more rock-oriented set, and she was actually quite good. And, you're right, we should see her in the live performance to see what her entry is capable of, since in these days it is of course a memorable stage presence that counts the most; but I'd say the omens are good...

  • Stage presence and that you're a part of the eastern block, apparently. For the first time, each and every one of the countries that progressed from the semi were from eastern Europe. I don't know about you but I'm really beginning to find this whole affair fishy. Evridiki didn't really give it all she had, to my disappointment, but she was still miles ahead of e.g. Latvia and Serbia (though Hungary and especially Bulgaria really deserved the top spot).

  • Yes, it was a big issue on the Greek media yesterday how she didn't make it. I'll agree she didn't give it all she got (and a girl from work said she looked and behave too "wild" onscreen - maybe she's right), but it was really a disappointment for us too.

  • (continued from above) It's a pity too, because otherwise I think that apart, from Turkey and Latvia, it was really a good choice of songs; yes, eastern block voting obviously affected the result (I'm esp. beginning to grow tired of FYR Macedonia going through every year!), but most of the Easterns also had the best songs.

  • (3rd comment - this is getting a bit long) I totally agree on Hunary and Bulgaria (although Elitsa's vocal was also disappointing - hope for a better one 2night), and I'm very glad that my favorite Georgia also made it through - visually the performance wasn't much, but the song itself is, IMO, the most groundbreaking entry I've heard in years. And, true, Serbia's song is far from the best this year, but Marija has a powerful voice and it's still a very respectable and not-at-all gimmicky entry.

  • (ok, last one, I promise) Which brings me to the main reason to be glad with the semis' results (apart from Evridiki, of course): the circus acts didn't work! Switzerland's vampires were touted as a potential winner, yet they already returned in their graves :) Austria, Malta and the Danish drag were also left in the cold. Of course, by the time you read this, it's possible that the Ukrainian loke with the aluminum foil has already won the whole thing and this comment looks incredibly naive...

  • No, to my very great surprise Serbia won, as I'm sure you know by the time you read this. Of course, I only could hear this through the radio because the accursed Icelandic tv cut off the transmission a few votes to go because tonight is election night. Not even a warning. :S Great job, guys. I'm disappointed at how low France came; they got my vote. But then, the Eastern block is dominating the contest for real now.(continued)

  • (cont'd)At least Bulgaria and Hungary did well (Hungary their best result since Friderika, unless very much changed after I was cut off). Georgia WAS great; I fully agree with you know, though Bulgaria remains my favourite; a truly stunning, ancient-sounding and powerful song. Apparently most of Europe loved it, too. (We and Sweden were very popular for giving Finland twelve points - Norway and Denmark failed).

  • Yes, it's a pity that Finland didn't do well, because I liked their Evanescence-like number. And it's indeed great that Hungary (8th) and Bulgaria (5th) did so well (Georgia on the other hand got only 12th - oh, well, what can you do?)

  • Btw, you'll be interested to know that the results of a small group of friends that gathered in my house 2night to watch the thing. From 5 people, the top-10 was:

    Georgia 44 p.

    Bulgaria 41

    Serbia 39

    Russia 29

    Hungary 21

    Moldona 17

    Finland 16

    Belarus, France, Germany 15

As you see, Eastern countries were also dominant in our poll (and mind you, we don't consider ourselves one of them).

  • God, that's really awful! Well, at least I hope that the party you voted was the one elected, since you don't seem to get that joy from the contest anymore :) The Eastern domination quite apparent, I think, since all the Western - and for 1st time ever all the Nordic countries too - fared truly awfully. (continued)

  • On the other hand, I still insist that most of them had the best songs and performances. Serbia esp. really grew on me with their performance tonight - such a dramatic belter and she really gave it everything she gor! Like it or not, I think you'll agree it's a breath of fresh air in the winners' list after years of ethnic dance tunes and overblown stage acts (a ballad! and NOT in English! and without an attractive performer - (ok, the backing girls aside)! and a not a stage gimmick in sight!)

  • You're right (I say that a lot, don't I ;D). It's grown on me too, and watching the reprise (they showed that, at least) I feel it was indeed a breath of fresh air in terms of winners; the first time a song and performance actually win in ten years. It's a relief that the contest didn't go down the expected route of Ukraine winning, even though that was the biggest crowd-pleaser. It was a bad year for us Nordic countries, but we did best in the final, a mere 14 points from the final spot :S

  • (continued - I think it's only a matter of time before they give us a serious warning) I only really regret France having to put up with third from last - their best entry in a long time, so happy and uplifting, didn't deserve that. The big four just can't break it anymore, can they? (Btw; Ireland in last place. The first time that happens.) And what was it with that absolute SNORE from Armenia coming in eighth?

  • Well, like Turkey, Armenians have their large communities across Europe to thank for their points (I'll let you in on a little secret; so do we! :-)) As for the big 4, the UK obviously didn't deserve it (in my house we expected nul points for them, and there was quite a roar when they got 12 from Malta), but the others surely could have done better. France esp. of course, although it's admittedly a song not to everyone's taste (their 15 p. in our poll were largely thanks to a 7 from me).

  • And, I have to say, I just love our little chat, but it's almost 5 am here and I'm getting REALLY sleepy. Send me a msg if you like, so we can continue this tomorrow (so we don't bother everyone else with our talk on ESC 2007 in the comments section of an unrelated video) :-)

  • I expect they were roars of anger; yeah, if you ask me they didn't deserve points at all. But naturally it was Ireland who pulled them out of the bottom in the beginning with a seven. I fully expected them to come in last; their song was rather generic and sounded at least twenty years out of date. And this airline routine was rather strange. As I said, France was the one country I wanted to see do better than they did. But results are results, I guess.

  • You're right about the UK. I mean, even for fans of circus acts, theirs seemed really lame coming after the has-to-be-seen-to-be-believed Ukrainian entry. And, of course, it still was their 2nd worst result ever (after Jemini, naturally).

  • Yes, indeed, and the poor Portuguese lost the chance for their 1st final since 2003 for a rotten 3 points. Yours was a song I can't say I was crazy for, but I fully understand its appeal. I had expeacted Sweden to do very well, but the performance was quite flat and didn't go down well. Oh, well, I believe they'll be able to bounce back next year.

  • My good tasos, the contest's voting may be 'questionable' but I greatly prefer it to election night (I'm a very unpolitical person). At least it's a shadow of its former self.

  • I loved this song. It had a beautiful melody, good chorus, was dramatic and very well performed. Always sticks in my memory and yet made no impact in the eurovision of that year. Great shame.

  • Fantastic! I really love it :) the 11th place was really underrated! This really should have been in the top 5.

  • one of my favorite songs !

  • Possibly the sexiest song ever in the Eurovision Song Contest. I totally didn't see this was the same woman who sang "Anthropos" in 1994.

  • the dress, the moves.. brilliant just brilliant

  • AMAZING!!! I will always remember her stunning performance at ESC!

  • zaharoplasths o pateras ths...

  • Wow!!!
