Heavens to Murgatroid! THANKS for posting! I have seen this rarely seen low budget flick from the 60's only once...that was on local TV back in the late 70's. I was only a teen & didn't pay close attention.....now I wish I had! VERY different & gritty !

Joanie Sommers? Are people joking??? That is so not Joanie. I know her well, and she absolutely did not sing that song in that film or anywhere else."
I've just posted this beneath another WKTB video. However, I strongly believe that artists should get their due credit. It's a New York singer named Rita Dyson (Jet Magazine Oct. 21, 1965)
went to see a screening of this movie last weekend----movie was kinda meh quite honestly (sorry guys) but i couldn't get this damn song outta my head the entire week since i saw it. (i keep thinking it would make for an awesome sample/remix---can't believe no one's hit it up after all these years!) Who Killed Teddie Bear? i walked out of the theater and down into the lobby humming this--and one of the guys in the lobby waiting for the next show was like my roomate wouldn't stop singin this too.
I was 11 yrs. old when I first laid eye on Sal Mineo and it was in Who Killed Teddybear, man, he was my first crush, ever. my parents teased me about him all the time...lol.
kind of. It's a period piece trying to handle adult themes. So it's laughable in their handling of it. but I enjoyed because of Sal, the location shots, the music and its dark cinematograhpy.
@MrsJamesDeanForEver ---honestly no not really. nothing really ever develops in the storyline beyond the very obvious (man is obsessively calling woman...woman gets freaked out and suspects everyone from the old lady who owns the club she works in to the cop working the case...everyone that is except the strange guy who also works in the club that she's apparantly ok with talking to and think's nothing of his crush on her despite the fact that she's suspecting everyone else who crosses her path)
What stands out for me from the first time I watched this movie, are the two scenes where the sexy Juliet Prowse strips down to her bra and panties !!
You have excellent taste in women. When Juliet co-starred with Elvis Presley in "G.I. Blues," he described her as having "a body that could make a bishop stamp his foot through a stained-glass window"!
Thank you so much for posting this classic. This wonderfully crazy movie has not been seen in England for a long time. Joseph Cates worked in England for a while after this- maybe he had to run? LOL
Amazing! This movie was written by Arnold Drake, a revolutionary comic book writer/creator. He wrote/created Doom Patrol and Deadman, among others. He also created "Beast Boy" (later Changeling) of the Teen Titans, and wrote some great issues of the X-Men as well. He also wrote one of the first "graphic novels".
I'm sure that's just one of those Hollywood myths, but if it's true I can't say I blame him. If I were working with beautiful, leggy Juliet Prowse, I'd have a constant boner too!
I'm stunned! I've been researching this movie all day and I just found this "treasure" clip of the movie! I just bought a DVD (copy of 16mm) of the film on EBay, I've never seen the movie, can't wait!!!
The titles and that theme song have me sooooo GONE>>
Saw this one a few years ago at the Film Forun in NYC. Loved it. Very haunting. Even more so because of Sal's tragic death. Especially loved the music. Hope a dvd comes out soon.
Even though Sal was taken from us so yound we at leat have the legacy that he left behind. YouTube is a great place to see a lot of Sal stuff that I've never seen before. Thanks for posting this clip. Do you have the elusive pool scene? That would be a great cip to see.

Love Joanie Somers singing the theme. They don't make really good music for movies anymore.

Working on the pool scene. My personal favorite.

Wow! I LOVED Sal in "Who Killed Teddy Bear?". I can't believe it's never been officially released on vhs or dvd.
PLEASE post the following scenes if possible:
- Sal running through Times Square
- Sal working out at the gym
- Sal dancing with Nora at the disco at closing
Thanks much! It was a great surprise seeing someone had posted the title sequence!

Actually, I'm mixing all of these together into a single clip. :)
