@jechuTv In Windows just find the Archos in "my computer" and drag and drop the video file to the "video" folder within the archos. You can also use WMP but it usually tries to convert them and that takes a lot longer.

if you buy plug-ins for your A5, then you can download videos from youtube with Internet Download Manager (IDM) and then copy into the device.

If you don't want to buy IDM, there is a widget on Ubuntu (9.10) and Windows (vista or 7) called Youtube Downloader. Just go on widgets website and download it.

If you don't buy plug-ins for your A5, then google "Any video converter" and download the free one. Convert video to *.avi, codec XVID, mp3 audio codec.

go to dvdvideosoft. and theres a Downloadable program to Download free Music off of youtube and to Download the Videos from Youtube... Unfortunately Archos 5 will not allow you to Play them on ur A5 because you have to download a Software plugin which is about $20 you have to purchase it through them... I use to have a A5 60G, but accesories cost Money... if you have any questions about the A5 or Video Software comment me bro.

You plug the DVD Composite or Component cable into the DVR Station. I have an ARCHOS 605 wifi 160GB. About 140 DVD movies on it. This new model is way better though. Im thinking of getting the 500GB version.

hi chris, i just got an archos 5 60gb media tablet a few days ago but it doesnt support any video format other than .WMV

AVI doesnt wok and other formats i have tried to use to play videos, i was wondering if you knew how to "endow" the archos 5 with the ability to read other video formats (custom firmware?). video converter are time consuming

AVI works fine. Perhaps though your AVI uses AC3 audio (usually for 2CD dvd rips), then you need to buy the Mpeg2/AC3 codec plugin for like $10. There is also a H264/AAC codec plugin if you need that (if you don't know what it is, you probably don't need it)

Ipod touch, along with the Iphone is severely overrated. Archos 5 & 7 are going to be the official Ipod killers once they tweak the very small list of issues for those units. I'm sure with the new firmware upgrade to come out by the summer, it will be even easier to use.

I used to have an Archos Gmini 402, I believe? I loved that thing, even with all of its flaws, in fact that made me love it more. The short battery life, made me cherish each moment with it, as cheesy as it sounds. Archos products are just charming.

it doesnt conflict with itunes, because it uses simple drag and drop features, just click the thing you want and drag it into the archos window, unplug the archos and your done!

Currently they have close to 1000 live WebTV channels, but that number is growing daily. Basically, it's scraping the web and looking for streaming video links that it ads in its online directory. You can also launch any streaming video directly from the browser.
