  • Don't worry to much about the negative comments Laluna, i say well done for trying it, and as some others have said, it's best on toast with butter :)

  • white toast..lots of butter...on the toast...then about a gram of vegimite,,americans eat it all wrong..try it you'll love it.

  • @MyStupidcunt Agreed Mate, only need a dab and lots of butter

  • Americans don't know how to eat it properly! We don't have it plain on a cracker all clumped up spread it evenly maybe some cheese or butter with it (:

  • 1. How did she get vegemite if it only sells in Australia? (well that's what I have been told any way)

    2. Maybe Americans wouldn't dislike it so much if they didn't spread it on so thick!

  • Somehow I don't think a saltine is the best flavor combination for this spread.

  • @LordofChange89 deep fried anything is amazing

  • LOL Well you kinda tell Almost everyone who Hates Vegemite is the same people who like nutella...

  • vegemite doesn't taste like a vitamin you stupid whore

  • @modshroom its just her opinion.... calm down.... breath in, breath out, breath in, breath out.

  • Umm, in America we call that a cracker...Ahhh yes, and niggers call whites "crackers" also but thats another story..LOL

  • Tried it,hated it.

  • Be proud, at least you gave it a go.

  • @mrduckrichard what makes it taste so good? Is there somthing sweet or tart people like about it?

  • The main ingredient in Vegemite is yeast extract. Yeast is a primary source of vitamins in vitamin pills. I don't think most Americans consume nutritional or brewer's yeast, so they only associate the taste with vitamin pills, which don't taste very good. I'm used to the taste of nutritional yeast and brewer's yeast, so I'd probably like Vegemite.

  • @CrazyAlvis Good point, although as an Australia I was both amazed and intrigued by a can of cheese I found at Woolies once. I bought it for my camping trip and it wasn't that bad. But I like vegemite (a thin spread of it anyway) on my toast.

  • im from australia and i hate vegimite

  • you did it wrong..

  • I'm American & I like it. Marmite is good shit too. I'll eat it any day....

  • And, let me just say: I've been put in a similar situation with national dishes or foods people love and leaves you scratching your head. I did a year exchange program in Sweden (great place) with lots of great foods to try; a few were acquired tastes, like fil mjölk, blodpudding, surstrômming, osv/etc... I always found comfort in getting some strange looks when introducing some comfort foods from home, like peanutbutter.

  • Yeah, if they give you too much slack for not liking Vegemite, let 'em try a big old heaping spoon of peanutbutter - Skippy's, in fact. He he he...

  • @crazyalvis its not an aerosol can you fucking moron. That would mean poison. And look at this nasty marmite shit? It comes in a tube? In america the only shit that comes in a tube is toothpaste or medication. Marmite is dirty british and australian food made for poor people from recycled beer stills. It looks and tastes like shoe polish. Smerica does everything better than europe.

  • Americans think Vegemite is nasty while they eat (and love) cheese from an aerosol can. Go figure.

(Mind you I've tried Vegemite and it's not my cup of tea.)

  • VitameataVEGEMITE!

    AND ITS SO... TASTY TOO!

  • I don't know how it would taste like a vitamin, and you don't get a huge chunk of it you have it with magarine or butter. Aussies don't have bad eating habits either.

  • haha its fun to watch americans faces srcunch up from something we have everyday nd is our favourite spread haha .,but there no need to jugde the poor girl lol

  • vegimite= DISGUSTING!

  • @RavenNight2641 thats because your doin it wrong, after a long day in the bush hunting drop bears on your kangaroo theres nothing better than some Vegemite toast and a big cold fosters!

  • @LordofChange89 Its true tho, they are soft cunts.

  • i tried vegemite for the first time back in 1996 when an online chat friend from austrailia offered to send me some of the stuff i had only heard of in that crazy 80's song. lol when i received my vegemite, i did what she suggested, (the hot toast, butter, and thin, thin scraping of the vegemite on it. let me just say that this american LOVED it from the first taste, and quickly started smearing it on thick on my bread. <3 me my vegemite!

  • @queenieserena Yay!! thank you, people who have never had Vegemite before don't realise you only need a little amount, less is more with Vegemite. Too much and you'll hate it! You have to get the right amount that suits you..lol

  • Wow. I had no idea that this video would get so many controversial comments, and so much attention. This was meant as a way to share cultures with my Aussie friend.

Vegemite is a regional, acquired taste. I had many others try it, and the majority did not like it. The ones who did had eaten the British version, Marmite, from a young age.

Also, do not judge me based on a stereotype. You do not know my eating habits. And, Aussies' have pretty poor eating habits, too. Everyone calm down.

    Thanks.

  • @LalunaLove I'm aussie and a lot of people i know hate vegemite. however I LOVE IT. tho for most people a thin layer is better. trying it on a cracker bad idea . also you put it at the end of the cracker WHERE WAS THE SPREADING. I do believe however that vegemite might be an acquired taste. Just as some people don't like things that are too sweet.. etc etc so fellow Aussies stop bitching and making a mockery of our country.. (PLEASE DON'T JUDGE US ON THESE MORONS)

  • @LalunaLove marmite i'm pretty sure marmite is from new zealand, not britain.

  • Can't beleive how much hate mail i'm gettin over 1 stupid comment I made XD. You yanks need to lighten up already, but if makes you feel better keep the hate coming cause your tears bring a smile to my face :)

  • @LordofChange89 This is coming from the guy who just posts video game videos on Youtube and puts a warning sign for foul language at the beginning. Just because some idiot told you all Americans are pussies who only eat crap food doesn't mean it's true. One video on the internet, and you somehow infer that all Americans suck. Bravo. Your parents would be proud.

  • Wow I have been eating vegemite all my life and have never seen it in a tube!! best way to eat it is on buttered toast =)

  • IDK why but I'm american and i love foreign food. The more isolated and unique it is, the more dericioush lol.

  • @LordofChange89 Best Comment.

  • I seriously do not get americans!, they react as if its poisonous!?

You yanks are weak if you cannot handle a little sandwich spread, pathetic!.

  • @LordofChange89 I'm Aussie and you do realise Australians have the same obesity rate as Americans? The highest or second highest in the world. We eat just as much junk food as they do. Perhaps you should think about that before embarrassing yourself, judging an entire country is foolish so grow up mate.

  • @LordofChange89 Wow, don't judge us! I am ashamed of the way SOME people eat in America, but not eveybody does. And so what? Australia is the second most obese country in the world...

  • Vegemite Toothpaste!!!!

  • that is one weird vegimite tube!
