But DMC fans ranting has made me realize that...DMC was never the best with story. So that's why Capcom went to Ninja Thoery to give DMC a story. Still, they really didn't have to change Dante, but hey, money money money.

Dude. The DMC games are good, but the story of DMC is not very well told. They could have not done anymore DMC after DMC1 and give it to Kamiya to do. But instead, they made DMC2 which had the worst story of them all. I've read the DMC2 novel, it seems like a fanfic to me. DMC 3 was good with gameplay and character but that story was too much like Inuyasha (Look it up) if you read the plot of Inuyasha, you'll know what I mean. Capcom just isn't that good with DMC just gameplay

Heres what I think, theres never been that much professional writing.Its like the scripts are incredible in Devil May Cry 1 and 3, but has anyone ever created a standard in Devil May Cry storytelling?

The DMC3, DMC4 manga, and the DMC2 novel have done their parts. I have to read all before my final judgement. At least DMC2 was given some story in the manga. Kamiya has never actually written a story other than establishing the world of DMC.

Devil may cry 1 was a badass game with its own style, Devil may Cry 2 wasnt a bad game at all it was just such a change to dante and the combat was a bit slower. it was still fun though. Now Devil may Cry 3 was amazing because it brought us so many new and kick ass things as well as Dante's personality back. I'de choose the spookiness of the first game over the 3rd one though. That enviroment felt demonic!

@RavenThryfe Yeah the environement was something that was a real letdown in DMC2, its had poor textures, boring colours and architectures, but i agree DMC2 wasn't that bad, it just had bad sides, at least a bit more then DMC1, and it was more plot and character related then gameplay related

I liked the way you could customize your DT and the DT look in DMC2, while i did regret the Devil Arms absence.
