  • I don't like this guy.

  • hehehhe thanks!! i like !! =]

  • Dude forget all these douche bags just wanted to say thanks on revealing and breaking down a new technique for me to use in my playing!

    -mike

  • do you sweep them?

  • Am I the only one that was distracted by his fret inlays?

  • thanks for the lesson.. which Yngwee's song is this?

  • if ya don't like the video....... don't watch the video.. and shut the fuck up about dave... he is doing this for those of us that respect his talent and information he is providing..so why don't you go watch some jonas brothers vids and stop acting like a "meatstick"...lol..thanks dave superb lesson..Hammerfoot....lol

  • My man keep the good work and dont worry about the haters..there are more people who will appreciate these videos than those who dont.

  • I gona learn that one! cool thanks

  • omg!!!! 0:50 THAT CHEESY 50´s biker look...hahahahahahahahahahha

  • i would sweep that

  • yeah i would agree

  • thanks that helped a bunch

  • ei, andy timmons used that ascending arpeggio on "Groove or Die", hehe!!!

  • This is a great lesson and makes a great easy exercise too, nice work dave, I am sure studying the structure of this will enable users to come up with their own runs too, it is all good practise and well explained. credit to you

  • what happened to tom

  • 0:50 hahahahahahah i laughed at that.

  • ahaha i did too

  • Nice!

  • FASTER ARGH!!!!! XD

  • Gotta love Yngwie.

  • Jealous! Don't be such a hater. Grow a dick, don't just be one. The "guitar hero" tag is for you kiddies who can only play the video game.

  • .....I don't know why that fretboard bothers me........

  • the reason why that fretboard most likely bothers you is because the white dots are in a wierd position on a guitar that may or may not be better than yours.

  • could you please send me the backing track? :)

  • you are a great teacher..

  • dude my fuckin band teacher uses the one e and a counting...is that common?!

  • That's how it's been taught for a long time

  • "except in your hand" lol

  • Hi man, thanks for your vid, can you tell us how to get the backingtrack?

    Thanks from Holland.

  • 13th fret + 4 does not equal 16th fret.

    Learn math, please.

  • Unfortunately for you the maths might be a little suspect (because actually the diminished shapes follows a +3 pattern) but musically it's correct; diminished arpeggios repeat after a minor 3rd.

  • owned.

  • How weird I just saw a sign for this school. So how much would some guitar or bass lessons cost?

  • lol. maybe its a sign to show you just gotta play.

  • Awesome playing but why are you using cheap guitars?

  • You're not a guitar hero.

  • True. Kids who play plastic toys are. Is that what you were looking for?

  • fucking GH game, waste of time if you ask me, just check out what MAB does to a GH controller

  • dude I love playing both gh and real guitar.

There both fun and a way to pass time

  • what is gh

  • Guitar Hero... lol!

  • ahem...thx for clarifying

  • respect your local guitar teachers

  • ah, wuts the chords you would play as the beat?

  • thanks for the lesson man, all ur videos have helped me tons...keep up the great work

  • You got any advice on Django gypsy jazz stuff. Thats what I have started.

  • Aha, I like that finger joke! Good stuff man!

  • 'Guitar Hero'

    Bit full of yourself, amiright?

  • no, it makes the search results better. But if you say so...

  • @Arazmo i doubt anyone searching Guitar Hero is good enough at real guitar to even understand this. so... fail.

  • @coolaidmanlol

what an idiot lol, tags are there to help the exposure of the video to a wider audience, if he put "britney spears" as a tag, would you say, "wow you're not britney spears." Way to think simple minded and come off as a jackass.

  • What progression are you using at the end.

  • Thanks BRO!!!! I sure wish Yngwie would slow the f### down just once :)

  • don't worry about saying f nat because people honestly don't care

  • really helpful man, i appreciate it, i did it on bass.

  • thanx.....very well prepared lesson lol

  • Dude, I appreciate you going slow like that and being very articulate in your instructions. Also, it's funny that you're bored enough to be distracted, doesn't take away from the lesson at all, makes you a normal dude just like us! Thanks for the work!

  • Huh? What is looing up and cutting

Might be b/c I got a phone call...

  • he's trying to help people, why do you have to be an ass?

  • Man you are good! Do you give out private lessons? If so where?

  • i got the poster on the right :-P

  • Arazmo, you ain't gramps...lol you're great dude

  • keep the clean sound. sounded killer

  • lol, heez reading from somthing

  • false. I am looking out a window or at my laptop.

  • thanks for post:)

  • fck the haters...this lesson helped me out alot. Helped with my timing, phrasing, and fret hand positioning

    thanks.

  • Your Momma!

  • Indeed, very good! Go on to do that, thx.

  • this is a good lesson, thx

  • yeah,we know this shit....that's easy. post some more challenging 'lessons' ,and don't forget to brighten up...you teach it as if you invented it

  • You "know it all" critics make me laugh.

Who is "we"? All the people saying thanks?

Post your stuff up, big mouth.

  • Nice job with this lesson

  • Arazmo is a kick ass last name.

  • i have that rage against the machine poster

  • thankyou

  • its not diminished! its diminished 7th! 7th 7th 7th 7th 7th! When you talk about theory, talk about it correctly. Diminished only has three notes in its triad, while diminished 7th has 4 notes because its a 7th!

  • No kidding? Thank you. Yes, this is true kids, I was lazy in not giving a chord theory lesson included in the video. A diminished chord is a root, minor 3rd, and flat 5, "Diminished 7th" is the same plus a double flat 7th. Hey rpm4, what are the tones of a C diminished 7th?

  • C, Eb, Gb, and Bbb. Bbb meaning same as A natural, but in correct theory it's Bbb. This is because Gb to A would be considered a augmented 2nd, and not a minor 3rd, and all of the intervals in a diminished 7th have to be minor 3rds.

  • My head hurts..

  • given. but exact same timing. and by the way i messed up. Its the first 7 beats that are identical not just the first two. The only difference in the piece i aim familiar with is that that instead of your harmonic minor hammer on lick a whole step bend on the 20th fret of the B string is used.

  • the first two beats are the same as a lick from a magazine in the UK!!! who copied who then?

  • We both copied Yngwie, who copied someone else.

See if you can get the name of who discovered the diminished chord, scale etc....

  • i'm saying EXACTLY the same. note for note. i do believe this is merely a coincidence but it;s just strange how two people can come up with EXACTLY the same lick like that.

  • You think that's something? Check out how many songs

there are that go I - V - VI - IV chord progression...almost everyone on the radio!

There are only 12 notes in music....

  • That's not true if you count flats, sharps, and naturals. But ignore me, I've only been playing about 8 and a half months, and I'm self-taught, so I know virtually nothing about theory.

  • Almost, sonicdreamcast dude. Theory is awesome once you get your head round it, but there are some bits that, at first glance, appear to make no sense.

I remember the first time I encountered a Cb while reding a chord chart in a big band, I'd been playing for years but had only just started reading. I was adamant that Cb was a typo, it should have said B. Not so, said the bandleader, and he was correct.

That was a couple of years ago. I understand now..

  • Great, man. Can you explain how is the scale applied to every chord. I mean, in what key can I jam with?

  • Use the diminished arpeggio as a sub for a dominant 7 (the fifth chord) then resolve to the key. In this example, I play the dim arpeggio: F, Ab, B, D, as a sub for an E7 (E, G#, B, D) notice the difference - the E is changed to F to become a diminished arp. Build your dim arpeggio from the note a 1/2 step lower than your key chord and you'll be in place, resolve to any major or min key....have fun!

  • dave !! showin' some local love from your boy ben miller. =).

  • one eeee and aaahhh i still cant do it!

  • Nice! You make it look too easy.

  • i love your lessons dude, there so clear and accurate :)
