ATTENTION STAR FOX FANS! Once the "The End" screen appears, wait for at least 20 minutes, and you will hear a small chunk of the Star Fox end music in a different way. I'm NOT kidding. Try it yourself.
Well i might as well say it since you guys have, I pratically 20 and i played the NES and snes, Games back then had a certain power, an emotional one. Today, if you beat a game, it's like a small little woo, But back then, if you beaten a tough or somewhat easy NES, SNES, N64, you felt very accomplished, seeing the ending, and then the credits, listening to them (if ya did), It's a very cliche saying but....they really don't make games like back then.. :(
For those of us who grew up playing these game - we can truly say that we were the pioneers of gaming. Everything back then was fresh and new. There was never a dull moment - except for E.T.
@Einhander49 I totally agree w/ you. Young Kids say that everything is better now, better sound, graphics, etc. I'm 31 and people like you and me and past generations before us never saw anything like this before. You are right, we were pioneers, no internet, no cell phones ,just gaming..
@stupormundi7 hehehe im 14 and i feel left out tat you guys got to play such epic games when you were young im tellin you they dont make games like they used to
@stupormundi7 so true. Everything was harder back in the day. But those hardships did build better character and deeper appreciation of technology's progress.
Today i regret more than anything...i sold my 8-bits sega/nintendo--16bits megadrive/snes. Is there a reason to be ashamed, indeed. Was i young and naive, and needed a few extra bucks, for my next generation console, indeed.
I had a great kid/teen life, with lots of friends as we grew up. But Gaming was also large part of my life as well. I would go so far as saying, gaming isnt just gaming, its a lifestyle, and means alot to some people, including myself....just dont overdue it ;)
I'll never forget when I heard Fox speaking to Pepper in the end there. I almost shat myself, that was the first I ever heard voice acting in a 16 bit game.
I remember I was so into this game in first school I kept making the Star Wing craft out of lego. That's it; where the fuck's my Super Nintendo!?! *rummages*
i had an amiga and snes in this year, both gave me wonderful memories, thankyou. the 16 bit era was limited but in my opinion better than that of later era's..
The music that plays during the boss montage is one of the best video game tracks ever. If they did that at the end of every star fox game ever I'd buy it just to see & hear the new version.
The first time I beat this game I started crying, when I was little, it took me hours to beat this game, but in the summer of 2003 everything changed, til this day, this game still makes me cry, and star fox has a special place in my heart.
Castlevania 3, Zelda 3 , super mario world , metroid ect ect and this...i remember the days when snes was dominating the gaming scene, ohhh what times it was. This really bring back memories.
Im have 20 years of gaming xp behind me and i intend to keep going, gaming is a lifestyle ;)
makes you want to be 13 again. damn that was over 15years ago. aww how time flies! definitely one of my favorite & most memorable game. looking forward to becoming a 60+ year old video-game veteran on day.
Yeh I cant belive I used too call up the video hire place ask them too hold it for me walk all the way too town and hire this game for 8 bucks a night!!!!!!!!!! And it used too blow me away the graphics I thought were out of control. But now geeez. Wonder what the games will look like in another 10-15
I used to complete the game on Level 1 just to hear the music. I'd move the cartridge so the game would crash and then the music would continously play.
It's true that this was the first 3D game on the SNES. It made use of the Super FX chip. There were 3 such games to use this chip. Star Fox, Stunt Race FX, and Vortex.
So many memories... I was going on 12 when my mother bought me this game. It's still one of my all-time favs. I just wish I still had it and my SNES. lol
I like the song when they show the game bosses at the end. I bought this game off of eBay in August, and I TOTALLY beat this game about a week ago, because I had to fix my SNES.
>that feel when you saw these credits for the first time
>the most epic moment of your childhood

Falco was a dick in that game, everytime he asked for help, you give him it, then he complains that you stole his kill. Ahh, good old Falco.

Hmm, the programming team weren't Japanese - I wonder how that worked out, with most of the game design/graphics apparently done in Japan.
This is a pretty amazing game - the SNES wasn't underpowered, but it wasn't really designed for sexy 3D. But Starfox pulled it off brilliantly!

soo basically star fox 64 was an almost exact replica of this? never had a chance to play this 1 but hear so much about it..
meastsidem 2 years ago 2
@meastsidem
Not exactly. Star Fox 64 was a remake of the original game. With lots of stuff from the cancelled Star Fox 2 thrown in.
There are things that would be unfamiliar to you in this game if you only played Star Fox 64.

Man, it's STILL epic. The SNES had an awesome sound processor, and could handle the orchestral symphonies that made up the game's soundtrack.
