I knew Spiros in Athens when he was visiting and going broke giving relatives money. I use to buy him prune juice at the commissary. About 1962 or so during my three years there. He was from Arachova? near Delphi and his wife from Levadia nearby by. I visited again in Calif while at my folks home in Atherton and he lived in Los Altos. He gave me some of 45's which I still have. He was self taught and only went through the 3rd grade. A joy to have known. Charles Christian, Santa Rosa, CA
All, I am Christopher Spyros Stamos. I am the grandson of Spyros Stamos. I can remeber sitting on his lap while he played the cymbolm. thanks for the memories.
I'm not too sure this is from the late 40's. Spyros Stamos moved to California about 1948 and formed a group which recorded on Gypsy Records in San Francisco. He recorded a lot of music in the late 20's in Chicago. He was also a studio musician for WGN radio in Chicago. I'm trying to zero in on the dates he did the Columbia recordings.

Spiros Stamos was my father's Cymbalon teacher in Chicago in the 1930's. Thank you for sharing it with us.
