  • able to play but unable to work with it mh?

  • This is nothing at all exciting. It's just one of those crazy-expensive scopes that are pretty much a computer with special sensors.

  • we used to play snes-emulator games on our oscilloscopes :P

  • that's good. but what is it for? :D

  • WOW PLAYING A GAME ON A SMALL LCD SCREEN. AMAZING.

  • hmmm win/dos based scope?

  • fake. no blinking from refresh rate (monitor to camera)

  • @NikolaosLedZeppelin

isn't fake, in fact, that scope is like a pC monitor

  • fake

  • Haha.....You guys have too much time, particularly a 27" LCD cost less than the scope with a bigger screen without going blind!!

Well i guess you get to know more about your scope!

  • heh i have similar scope at work on my desk, also from the agilent infiniium series, 1GHz 4GSs 4 channels, maybe the same model but cant read the model number from the video. yeah it runs on windows so its easy to run whatever on it, has a keyboard mouse and all, even had it go bsod once. such a scope will set you back some tens of kiloeurs tho. so playing doom on it is of questionable value

  • and here I am wishing I had an oscilloscope!!!!!

  • DID HE DIED?

  • how do u connect a scope to a pc and what doom is that

  • @benposeno that scope is a pc, it runs on windows. oh and it costs few tens of kiloeurs

  • how do u connect a scope to a pc

  • That is BITCHIN.

  • That is the Best Use of a scope ever lol.

  • South Hampton Institute of Technology ?

  • ... Casemod?

  • @lekkimsm2500 Go shoot yourself.

  • @davidjereb Nah, i'd smack your fugly face with this gizmo first

  • @lekkimsm2500 Hurr durr, what is an oscilloscope? Is the guy in the video a wizard? O.o

  • big deal...whoohoo. Try and convert that picture to vector graphics and displaying it on an analog scope.

  • WTF!!!! in my school we had i scope with a tetris game and a realtime spectrum analyzer with super maria land...the maschines were so old....it was so awesome to play ...i never forget this time.... :D

  • Also, world's first videogame ran on a scope (pong)

  • @GuybrushUlysses

    the first game was OXO.

  • Call of Duty 5 would take arround Commodore 1.348.726 tapes

  • i wish my microwave could do that

  • @grapenationCO put a sega megadrive/genesis in your microwave wait some minutes and you can play sonic the hedgehog :D

  • i bet it was your lady friend taping it right

  • ...but can it run Crysis?

  • @examinemailbox sure, aauming you had a really powerful oscilloscope.

  • these guys are crazy :D

  • DUDE SAME SCOPE I HAVE it runs windows 98 so it can run stuff like that lol its not like a tube scope

  • When the owner of that Aglient DSO sees what you did to it they will cut your nuts off.

  • Come on that's cheating!

  • Probly just a usb line in. DO IT ON TEH ANALOGS!

  • that is no feat! FAIL

  • this scope runs windows 98 so it is no surprise it can run a game or indeed other windows applications.

  • got my Tenma 20 MHz scope wednesday and the dual traces is friggin sweet!. gotta find some stuff to do with it now :D

  • Now you have!

Many of the more recent (relatively speaking) higher end scopes have colour displays.

Actually, recent DSOs are really nothing more than a computer with a bunch of ADCs and special circuitry to handle inputs.

  • its a digital storage oscilloscope. the screen is a full color display and most newer scopes, you can hook video up to. im waiting for the new ones to have speakers though :P make the doom playing a little more worth while!

  • wut?

  • HAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!

  • Прикольно!

  • I used to play Q3A on my scope at work. These scopes are just pcs with a "little bit" of special hardware (and start at 15000€). My one runs on Win2k ;-)

  • you can put CoD 5 on a Scope!

  • Hahahaha, somewhere at 0:06 - 0:07 I laughed like a maniac when I saw how it looks like... But I believe it's not a Scope... a scope doesn't have THAT many colors! :)

  • It is a real oscilloscope. I've seen one of the same make in use. It's technically a PC equipped with a signal acquisition card and a small TFT screen on its front panel. There's acquisition software set to automatically start in maximized window after Windows has booted up. The one I saw came with a PC keyboard (small one, like on laptops) and a mouse. Operating system was Windows 98 and on the back there were LAN connector and a parallel port, maybe USB too.

  • Hahaha, cool! That's some scary shit! :)

    Wow!

  • hah, so while you're supposed to be doind scope work, you can sneak behind the teachers back and play a game or something in class :D

  • a lot of them have windows xp embedded now. they are pretty sleek oscilloscopes if i say so myself. they are starting to put some speakers in the higher end modles for hearing the wave formats and other utilities.

  • Why? Do you need an operating system on a bloody scope??

  • most newer ones are going PC based which can allow for add ons and upgrades to the equipment and bios

  • its a digital LCD scope. they are the newest generation of oscilloscopes that use less power and allow for multiple display sizes and even have a video output port for VGA monitors.

  • Cool!

    I didn't know that.

  • I don't know much about oscilloscopes, but they're probably much lighter too because they don't need the ray trace tube in there.

  • i only had 3 vacuum tube driven oscilloscopes and they were heavy as hell. im not sure about the newer ones with digital ultra high speed displays. i do believe they are lighter because you dont need a big bulky transformer in there. im about to get a newer Tenma and it seems pretty light but this thing is about 5 to 10 years old though.

  • lol this is not a scope^^its just a television, got something like that at work

  • wow ! How doo that? Aniway its amazing XD!

  • i hate people like you... you have it in front of your eyes yet you say its fake.

can you prove its fake? If you can i will forgive you if not go shove your head back under the sand

  • @hoskind12 Yea buddy you tell him.....on the internet!

  • @hcbjunior You are the most retarded human being on the planet. Go back to your bondage den.

  • Wow that's amazing.

  • When you said "scope" I was thinking one of those green oscilloscopes...

  • Most of modern digital scopes are in fact PCs. This one comes from Agilent. Agilent usues Windows on it's scopes, so running Doom on that is not something extraordinary. I would say it is lame. BTW, some manufactures, like Ando use Unix.

  • @flamesholder yeah, this is true. A lot of DSOs use windows, althought a different version, I don't remember what its called, so running Doom isn't much of a problem..

  • @flamesholder Ya the scope I have at work straight up has Windows XP on it. Agilent 16800 series logic analyzer. It's pretty dumb I think. Agilent took a mediocre PC, put it into a scope box with some sampling hardware on it and now they sell it for more than most cars. But I can't complain. It kicks ass.

  • yeah, but can it run fallout 3?

  • well done lads. always good to see tuition being put to good use. ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Y vos para que lo usarias? si por lo visto no tenes la mas puta idea de nada, no te das cuenta que es un fake el video?

  • Comment removed

  • el video no es un fake, ignorante.

  • yeah cool. i can play doom on my watch >.>

  • Wow, look at that detail! Did you guys have to hack up an input to the scope to play this game?

  • No cos modern digital scopes are PCs. It's not a huge deal to have anything which runs on a PC running on a modern digital scope.

  • It's a case mod for a PC.

  • I can play doom on my MP3 player iRiver H10, but its running an open source linux firmware.

  • It's impressive and pitiful how some people insist to criticize people just because they come up with original ideas.

  • Oh yeaahh?? So that is not oscilloscope that is PC with fuctions of oscilloscope! And if it is true there not big problem to run wolfenstein or doom!!!

  • Impossible. It should be B&W!

  • Actually some of the high end scopes $5k and up are in full color with LCD's

  • i can confirm with the agilent

that you CAN run doom or even frankenstein or any program that will run in windows xp

  • Hey man!!! Stop fooling people!!! It is a fake!!!

  • you are lol there are osciloscopes with windows installed

  • That is awesome!

  • Technology just isn't technology until you can get at least one form of doom on it! XD

  • Pretty much. "Well we have this giant new machine here, it can solve world hunger, cure AIDS, and kill cancer". "But can you play Doom on it?" "No?". Well we don't want it. Call us back when you can run Doom on it"

  • haha that is so dead on.

  • Monitor + Hull = This. :x

  • This scope is based on windows xp and is made by agilent. it has a keyboard, mouse, lan and a cd drive in the back of the unit. these are indeed expensivem the one i used was 35 grand

  • Real scopes use vacuum displays. Thought I would never see the day when 'scopes would have color screens and run XP. Well thats progress I guess.

  • i think is a mod, which means is just a monitor mounted on a case

  • Darn that thing must cost money! Coloured osciloscope. Woof.

  • YEAH wow! We still cant even get a full sized scope at our shop. we got this small calculator looking scope that sux.

  • Instructor: So did you get your circuit built and tested ?

Students: ...Ummm, no.. but we got DOOM working!

    LOL

  • yup that sounds like my shop back in high school lol

  • lol

  • nooo

    iddqd and idkfa :)

i remember this from dos :D

good video, idea and nice osciloscope...

  • CODE: IDDAD

  • lol i agree with the guy who said the 360 version of doom sucks, its so true it does suck

  • I remember one of those from college.-- Essentially a Windows 98 PC with an assortment of buttons and measurement sections along the front. Everything on the front would initialize with relay clicks upon startup and I believe it required a mouse for basic operations. Actually so overly complicated and took so long to start up that it was worthless for a quick off-the-cuff experiment.

  • Heheheh.

I can only imagine how ticked a tech may get when he's trying to calibrate, say, an amplifier with this scope when it decides to show the BSoD in the middle of the work.

  • I would love an oscilloscope like that. A full x86 PC in a cool package!

  • Logic analyzer?

  • You got a really nice and expensive scope.

  • It looks like you swapped minitors. cool though.

  • how did you get it in color!??!

  • geeks :)

  • That model of scope is pretty much an X86 PC with a high speed ADC board running dos/windows and some custom software. If the main cpu is i386 or higher and it has at least 4megs ram getting doom to run on it is no big deal.

  • turn one of these into a TV and you have my attention allthough this was cool

  • Maybe drdaedalus said something similar to this already (I'm American, don't you know), but I'd be truly impressed if it was played on an analog vector-based o-scope. THAT would really blow my mind.

  • Ulan millet osiloskop bulamıyor bunlar osiloskopla oyun oynuyorlar yaw.O cihazı daha faydalı işlerde kullanın.
