Anchorage was the second best DLC behind Broken Steel. Even though the battle itself has nothing to do with the Lone Wanderer, the Battle of Anchorage is a huge event in the Fallout universe. I'm glad they finally got around to putting it in a game.

Having lived in Anchorage since 2000, I think the landscape in the sim more accurately depicts the area between Anchorage and Eagle River (particularly Arctic Valley) or the Chugach Mountain Range than Anchorage proper. Anchorage itself is much more urbanized. Still, wouldn't mind having some T-51b Armor and a Gauss Rifle in case some commie bitches encroach on our turf.

Operation: Anchorage > The Pitt > Mothership Zeta (thus far). O:A just has the awesome pre-war setting (location/date) and the linear aspect was kind of a relief from the base game's open world. Buggiest DLC I've played so far, but the best, nonetheless.

The 'Operation Anchorage' mission kinda bored the crap outta me, but that Gauss Rifle and the Chinese Stealth armor are the 2 most important items that I have ever found in the game. Bar none. Even better than the Alien Blaster. That blaster is so rare that I'm afraid to use it up, but that Gauss Rifle/Stealth Armor combination have gotten me outta more pickles than I can remember.

@dave19941000 Install the DLC from the second disc. Then play the main Fallout 3 game. When you first leave Vault 101 you should get 4 radio messages with quests. These are the 4 DLC quests. You can select them from the pit-boy and then play them as any other quest. You have to play for about an hour before you leave vault 101, so you won't get the quest to begin with. From the main menu you can see them installed under DOWNLOADED CONTENT, but can only play them in the main game.

Reading about canon about the "great war" and it says no one knows who launched first. I honestly believe it was the Chinese. Since they lost the war in Alaska, they became desperate for the oil reserves and decided to order a preemptive strike against the U.S. in a last ditch effort to try to retake the remain resources in Alaska by eliminating the U.S. entirely. In response, the U.S. launches their missiles and its "hasta la vista baby"

I recently bought the Game of the Year edition for the PC and I just started playing Operation: Anchorage. Even the fight to the Outcast Outpost is flippin' sweet (with the buttload of Super Mutants). Haven't finished it yet, but this surprised the hell out of me. The total change in settings just made this an awesome add-on to an already awesome game.
