@ClubViking63 : actually, no. It's mostly Brian (first and last verse). Second verse is partly Al and (again) Brian. And of course Carl's on the 2nd and 3rd verse. Live versions from around 1986 - with Brian not present - have Mike taking over Brian's leads, the rest is the same (al and Carl).

Yeah the video and the song are both dumb, but in a really fun way. The Beach Boys early surf songs weren't made to be thought about too heavily or analysed for their subtle lyrical content, they were just rock n roll fun. This song was a return to that carefree time and contained all the 60's Beach Party movie ingrediants, cute girls, hot rods, dumb fun and rock music. I laughed all the way thru this - just like I was supposed to.
