  • This game doesn't get as dramatic as the later ones, but hell, it's brutal for all the reasons BoStaffLive cited. What a fantastic game.

  • who ever wants these two games, mg1 and mg2, remade for mgs 5 say I!

  • I (agree with you)

  • Snake: "Farewell, everyone! I'm off to 'victoriousy' fall into a downward spiral of PTSD and alcoholism in Alaska!"

    Me: ":Um',.......hooray?"

  • @nervmeister Yeah...Like killing your pops, best friend, and basically crush his views on the world, could have affected him in any major way.

  • This theme looks like a 1990 movie ending.

  • And Snake spends the next six years drinking his ass off somewhere in Alaska.

  • If only the true MG1 and 2 were released in the US. Contra would of been blown out of the water!

  • MG2 especially. MG1 is very rough, it's a rough prototype that's how I look at it, but still a good game, but has quite a few bugs and the story is a bit lacking. But MG2 nailed it, it improved everything and is a top game.

  • @thechosen2010

Instead we get the ultra-colorful NES Metal Gear, and the ridiculous Snakes Revenge.

  • @TraditionalChevy To those 2 games' credit, Metal Gear had to get into the mainstream and become household names somehow. If not for Metal Gear on the NES and Snake's Revenge, Metal Gear would have just gone down with the ship that was the MSX, fizzling out into just another game, however well-made it was.

  • @TheShinobiSan: The way I see it, even if SR never happened, MG2: Solid Snake wouldn't have been released in America on the 8-bit and 16-bit consoles at the time anyway. The storyline was more adult-oriented than most video games at the time, not to mention that while Metal Gear on the NES sold better in America than it did in Japan on the MSX and Famicom, the game was not an overnight success like Konami's other series and franchises at the time (i.e., TMNT, Contra, Castlevania, etc.).

  • @thechosen2010

MG1 set the premise, MG2 added the epic storytelling. Both together made for an incredible game that will forever be praised.

  • I play this game over and over since I got the MSX computer!

  • One of the greatest gaming tracks

  • my favorite MG/MGS theme its even better when you watch the ending video,

best part starts at 1:04(when it show GF in the credits)
