  • Looks great. Love the intake manifold. Jason and the guys at VW Paradise do awesome work.

  • go archway! im gonna put a type 4 in my black baja. you might remember my car. see you guys soon when im back in south county

  • 2.3 litres is not a small engine.

  • how can this small engine handle the turbo...

  • Would you consider making me that same header you have?

  • @slammedandshiny:

Built the engine myself, I'm the shop manager at Archway Import Auto in St.louis. Its not a daily driver build with the high compression, and over .600" lift at the valves... But it makes big power! I do drive it on the street though, to and from work, cruises on the highway nicely.

  • Made the header/turbo system myself from scratch so I could fit a 4 barrel under the decklid. Its not on for the dyno session but I do run a decklid with standard off the shelf decklid stand offs with no mods to the decklid or body to clear anything. I wasn't much for all the off the shelf systems for a big draw through setup that put everything hanging out behind the engine so there's no way to run a decklid. Also runs cooler with the decklid installed believe it or not!

  • Where did u get that header?

  • Can you say....sleeper?? LOL

  • Ooh! Please tell me you have a tipped-out decklid for that engine bay! That would looks SOOOOO trick, wouldn't it?!

  • Where can you buy engines like that?

Do they last long enough for daily driver street use?

  • @Trashjack101 vw paradise in corona california. they do excellent work and u can get a good 20k miles out of an engine from them if u take care of it. but if u want a big engine to be lasting such a long time u never get to race the shit out of it so u never have much fun. might as well buy a big beast of a motor and then have a 1600 laying around to drive on the street or to drive when something breaks on the big motor.

  • I was pretty happy, It woudl have done better if the clutch wasn't starting to slip. It made 260 at the wheels with only 10lbs

With water meth and 18-20lbs I'm hoping to be over 400 at the wheels... I doubt I'll be able to keep it in a straight line but it will be nice for bragging rights!

  • Damn good numbers. My 2276 with the T3/T4 only put down 225whp but that was only 8lbs. My new 1915 with the same kit is running 14lbs., no numbers yet though.

  • This car sounds so mean nice numbers on the dyno! you must be over 400 at the crank and with water and methanol injection you will be higher....Your motor sounds sweet!
