  • What's up with all the debate just injoy the song LoL.

  • i see where pitbull gets it from

  • La musica esta buena.

  • Loved this song when I was younger

  • Tower Heist

  • lyrics do sound racist on top you get all that african-sounding noises and gibberish but it has fantastic rhythm; song is tremendous and mind you, I am not a latino music enthusiast

  • @varbren I just wanted to make sure that everybody is aware that "negro" is a term of endearment in many Latin American countries. My mom calls me "negro" and her father used to call her "negra,." Regarding the African sounds, why is that racist?

  • @jefflunar the song is funny and great, the african is depicted almost as a sex fiend having the hots for an innocent girl; and you get called negro, term of endearment sometimes others not, only if your skin isn't white thus the monkey-like sounds lead many people to think it's racist, at least in europe that's the case

  • @varbren I understand your point of view, and I'm not saying that it wouldn't be racist. Specifically, I'm trying to highlight the cultural differences between DR and the US and Europe in matters of race. I know that there's racism in DR (I'm Dominican), but I would even challenge the idea that depicting a black man and a sex fiend is racist.

As for the term "negro" in Dominican culture, I'm don't think that the term alone, without any adjectives, could be offensive, as if "nigger".

    best song to dance

  • that nigga wanna fuck! thats whats wrong with him!!!!!! lol

  • I love the track to the song, however the song is racist. Before someone states that i don't understand the D.R. lingo I do since I am dominican. I often have the argument with my family about the song and even in DR the song is no longer played on the radio. It is a controversial song that depicts african as sex fiend that chase innocent little girls.

  • @freyn11 dude im dominican do you know what you just have said?

  • @freyn11 its not racist i speak complete spanish nad he just saying what the black guy wants

  • Wilfrido Vargas is the greatest !

I always used to pester him to sing this song at parties, sometimes I even sang it with him when we were all drunk and crazy drinking Brugal and CocaCola !

  • pq en una cancion tan importante y sabrosa en espanol todo el mundo comenta en ingles? en ingless: why is that in such a famous and amazing song in spanish everybody talks in english? (im not fake just because im writing in english right now)

  • i grew up in the projects and my boyz mom and dad played this song all the time i love it brings me back to when i was a kid

  • Four (4) Cuatro, (and any other comers) Dislikes?????? These GUYS were actually looking for Vergas, which, in my old man's lingo means DICK!, Tubo de carne, Pinga, Salami, Minquia, or whatever rocks you!

    replay

    all day everyday<3

  • i don't know what the fuck they're saying, but the "su madre" part sounded soo wrong

  • @Coraline1222 lmao it's definitely not

(repeat) D.C. CORO : Que le den, que le den. (repeat)
  • This song was remixed in the 1990 in a rap song (I can't remember who did it) does anybody know? Was it Mellow Man ACE?

  • pitbull used the hook of this song for his song the anthem. :)

  • @sugarbaby892007 child what song hasnt pit bull used?? if i hear him on 1 more remix ughhhh lol love this song :)

...... ALGUIEN SABE COMO SE LLAMA??

  • Woah why is a black guy coming after him?, Damn this shocked the hell outta me people..

  • this song is the shit! it too reminds me of a time not too long ago. we sing and dance and drink!!

as a puerto rican we tend to not notice color in our own culture, too bad the rest of the world does.

  • I love this song, I remember hearing this when I was little. Is he the original artist who performed this song?

  • mami k sera lo k kiere el negroo lmfco aOwwwww x33 I always loved this song............ I miss DR /:

  • I wish i spoke spanish lol Fuckin love this song ! ! !

  • @BasedGodDom Music is a language in itself you dont need to know spanish, enjoy brother/ sister !!!

    Translation

Mommy the black this rabid one,

he wants to fight with me,

    Go tell my daddy.

Mommy the black throws fear to me,

I cover my head and the black guy keeps uncovering me.

Mommy what can it be this black guy wants?(repeat)

  • Lol. . Don't worry, you don't have to know much Spanish, pretty sure you got the main idea and you have fun dancing it...In this song the African wants to have sex with a girl and she's so innocent that doesn't know what he wants wants so she asks her mama. When the African talks at the end of the song he doesn't speak Spanish, he seems to be speaking in an African language... It's a great merengue!

  • @BasedGodDom

i dont think you do. this is a really racist song. it's about a black man trying to rape a little girl and the girl tells her mom to tell her dad. "mami que sera lo que quere el negro means "mom what does the black want?" "mami el negro esta rabioso" "el negro me detapa" means the black man is rabid...the black man takes off my top"

  • @PrinceMishka

I'm sorry but your Spanish is lacking and you clearly don't take into account the cultural implications, or the fact that the singer himself clearly has some african ancestry...

This song is NOT about rape. It's about a young married couple in which the girl has no idea or concept of sex. She doesn't know why her husband takes off her covers at night, the reason he is "rabid" is because he can't get any from his wife and she doesn't even know what he wants

  • @PrinceMishka By the way "el negro me destapa" means "the black man takes away the covers" (as in bedsheets), not "my top". And in the latin culture, especially those from the Caribbean, calling somebody Negro is often a term of endearment. It's even used for people who are white. We do the same thing with "Chino" (Chinaman).

  • yes it is great music so classic. LET DOWN THE COLOR BARRIER! OH AND FOR THOSE AGAINST IT DO SO RESEARCH..... THERES A REASON FOR THE PIGMENTATION AND BEAUTIFUL LATIN SKIN!

BUT FOR NOW LOVE THE VIBE OF REAL MUSIC AND MEMORIES!

Saludos.

  • @galusb

  • ahora se peleean xq la cancion dice Q SERA LO Q KIERE EL NEGRO? nojoda

  • THIS is WHERE PITbull got it from

  • MUCHOS RECUERDOS ME TRAE ESTE TEMA. FESTIVAL DE VINA DE MAR. COMO HIZO BAILAR A TODA LA QUINTA VERGARA EN VINA DEL MAR. ESTA MUSICA ESTA MUCHO MAS LINDA Y SANA QUE EL REGETTON CON LETRAS OBSENAS QUE HUMILLAN A LA MUJER Y LA PONEN POR DEBAJO COMO SI FUERA UNA COSA BARATA. HOLA WILFRIDO CUANDO VUELVES A GRABAR OTRA VERSION SIMILAR A EL AFRICANO? QUE DIOS TE ACOMPANE SIEMPRE A TI Y TODA TU FAMILIA. MIAMI, FLORIDA MARIPOSA.

  • somos todos negros.

  • I LOVE this song, both this version and the cumbia one by La Sonora Dinamita. Those that find this offensive or racist - you miss the whole thing. Es puro rtimo - TUMBAO - pa' gozar, pa' desfrutar. I sometimes think Latin Americans are light years ahead of the US in terms of really understanding - and being comfortable with - the whole race card.

  • This song gives me mixed feelings. I didnt mind the first part of the lyrics, but when I heard all the 'jibber jabber' that came after I was like what the hell is this?? Over time I just felt more and more insulted by it, especially with what the lyrics were saying. Plus the fact that the artist is of partial african ancestry, but then again..given the time the song came out, and social climate with dark skinned blacks, this song is a very well loved classic

  • i grew up with this music and for me it wasn't about color,,,,what color i just looooved the music

  • for you PC folks listening to "el negro" (the dark one), it is a very common, affectionate nickname widely used in Latin America and the Caribbean, they call my uncle "el negro" because he's the darkest amongst his 12 siblings.

  • @TheEarthGerm Listen Ok Dont Go All Scientific About This. El Negro Has Nothinqq To Do With Beinqq Racist There Saying El Negro Cause Its There Own Race. Duh.... Im Hispanic I Should Knoww.

  • ¡Ea rayos!

  • LOL!!.. No escuchaba este clasico exitaso... I grew up with this song en to' los parties como por 5-6 años seguidos en 40 cumpleaños, 20 quinceañeras y millones de fiestas escolares, quermeses y entre otras actividades... LOL...

  • Autor: Calixto Ochoa ''Colombia''

  • What the hell is with this color crap?? Black/white whatever. They are Dominicans. Just like someone born in the United States, regardless of their complexion, is American. Anyways, just enjoy the song. Forget about what the singers/ artist look like/ resemble. Music has no color.

  • who gives a crap what color he is! this is a great song! reminds me of parties my parents had when i was a kid every body dancing and having a good time! and believe me we had people of all colors and races and nobody cared. too bad u guys r not enjoying this as i am

  • @emilyda1 So true! Same here. Nobody cared. All kinds of people dancing and having fun. That's what it was all about! I have wonderful memories with this song.

  • @emilyda1 Exactly emily! This song brings back so many memories.

  • @emilyda1 I'm Colombian, I can truly enjoy it.

  • QUE SI LA BAILE...

  • Race is a purely cultural construction, anyway. Why not just get over it?

  • Its hard to get over it when one race is constantly gaining advantages over others. Look at latin america, to this day most of our poor people are Black and Indigeno

  • People are being oppressed all over the world over more issues than race. Changing peoples perception of race won't change that. What people need is freedom, justice, and equality you know. Keep shinin', add on, food, clothing, and shelter.

  • As long as there's a group of people who have a sense of entitlement because of the color of their skin and the history of their background(s), then we will never acquire those things you mentioned like freedom, justice and equality so there will also be issues surrounding race.

  • you are talking alot of bull Its a song and enjoy there is no deeper meaning in this song so f u

  • Stupids tipicals Americans

  • Comment removed

  • The word is typical and your country probably depends on Americans for one reason or another.

  • people love to argue about the stupidest shit

  • @m3licAst

    word lol

  • beverlyhillschic.... THAT HAS TO BE ONE OF THE MOST IGNORANT STATEMENTS I EVER HEARD , NEXT TIME DO UR HOMEWORK SO YOU WONT MAKE AN ASS OUTTA YOURSELF!

  • who cares black or white??? stupid argument !!its not a CRIME to be BLACK or mixed . most white people risk cancer to have some color. LA MUSICA Y SU TALENTO es lo que cuenta. DOMINICAN's ARE SPANIARD mixed with AFRICAN & Carribean INDIANS so there! ACCEPT IT!

  • @aziadiva Most white people? Arent you ignorant. Thats only in America.

  • TO: beverhillschic & omfgyahh you are incredibly DUMB have u ever heard of MELANOMA.... STUPID! have u heard of TANNING BEDS ?!! the new thing is mixing pills with steroids to darken the skin!!! like for people who enter beauty contests or weighlifters who compete some even, AIRBRUSH color on to their pasty white skins you IGNORANT FOOL .. the point is whocares if WILFRIDO VARGAS IS BLACK its not a crime. 2 IGNORANT pieces of sh##

  • and \especially to omfgyahh THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC is in central AMERICA. the world now sees how STUPID !!! you only equate america with north america? as in usa but what about central & south america you FOOL!!! ACCEPT IT!! you DONKEY!!!

  • Comment removed

  • so the only place white people exist is in america?? ESTUPIDO!!

  • @aziadiva You are the stupid one, because you obviously can't convey anything I was saying. You said most people risk cancer to have some color. I said that's only in America. Ive been to many places where whites will wear sunblock 24/7 to make sure they don't tan.

You are also bad in geography, AMERICAS refer to north and south america. America is the abbreviation of USA. And if you want to refer to DR it is in North America. The Caribbean is considered part of N. America. Nice...

  • francisco escobar!!!

  • ALFREDO!!!!!!!!!!!

    Gracias

  • VIVA LATINOAMERICA !!

  • dominicans are mixed black and white to make hispanics

  • You Can't define who someone is. They do that for themselves. Great song and mucho orgullo Dominicano!

  • one time rythm is good but words is like a bad thing ... don't forget black are human too !!!

  • hey do you want to know who wrote and sang this son,a black guy,his name is wilfrido vargas, one of the best merenguero from santo domingo, dominican republic,so remember,he sing the song without ofending anybody, you need to understand the whole lirycs in orther to criticist, thank you!!!

  • @torovavan Hey, Calixto Ochoa Authored this song, he is from Colmbia

  • @torovavan no it wasnt made from him it was made by a colombian called calixto ochoa not him he had to pay to make that song because the colombian singer made it awhile back !

  • @ColombianoProduction the colombian youre talking about made it a "ok" song, wilfrido made it a HOT song.

  • @torovavan Well sorry to correct you but this song is an Original from Colombia written by Calixo Ochoa. A lot o Dominicans take Colombian music and make it into merengue or Bachata. I guess they don't have enough imagination to write and compose their own songs.

  • @torovavan the guy who wrote the song is not dominican he is colombian his name is calixto ochoa ; )

  • ? You must not know any spanish. He is black, this song is a tribute to africans, and how their culture had a huge influence on hispanic culture today.

  • Wilfredo Vargas is Black? Maybe I'm reading this wrong, or maybe you it's a typo, but Wilfredo Vargas in NOT Black...Johnny Ventura is Black. Yo habla Espanol y me encanta mi cultura...anyway Wilfredo is DOMINICANO, Dominicans are a mixed people, they come in all colors from Juan Luis Guerra who is light skinned to Jonny Ventura who is dark, to coal black like Haitian-Dominicans

  • Yes he is black... black has nothing to do with nationality. Of course he is mixed, but when I say black I am saying skin color wise, not nationality based.

  • being dominican doesn't mean you're not black, and if Wilfredo was Haitian with the same complexion, most people would say he's Black. But since he's dominican, somehow he's not black? Nonsense.

  • @lexdiamonds1990 people will tell they are dominican in order for you to undestand whats the person's culture, it doesnt matter whether the person is white as the snow or black as the night, you're dominican, just a culture thing, im willing to bet is the same thing with Jamaicans/Colombians/Ecuadorians/Puerto Ricans/Cuban/Haitians/Venezuelans & others, its only for you to understand whats their culture.
