theres nothing wrong with her draw, she just draws face with standart anatomy shape. which is really fall to very conservative way in realistic drawing, it might be not fit style that you are fancy about, but it is an art it self, no matter if someone draw in very conventional shape or in exagerated way...... or whatever method they use. i cant believe with these comments, if all of you are planning to be an artist, first thing u need to learn is how to respect others person works...

Realistic hair? That did not look any where near real. mouth width is too big- non-smiling mouth corners are typically never wider than the eyeballs distance apart- its almost always the same or less distance. Eyeballs are too big too- most portraitists keep a watch for those points.

How do you know that the drawn portrait isn't smiling? And you can't exactly tell whether the mouth is wider because the drawing is never shown exactly in a precise front view.

I make my living drawing faces and have done so for decades. Trust me- I can tell from any angle.

Do this test...

Pause the video and stick small pieces of white paper over the portrait's mouth corners so that the mouth is 20 percent smaller in length - ie, mouth corners directly below the eyeballs- you'll see 'the realness' after that.

For a Smiling mouth... the mouth corners would curve upwards and some form of the cheeks would show and usually there are creases from the nostrils to mouth.

Also- she is supposedly an expert - she made several feature errors. For one thing hairlines vary between people and amongst genders. Some are closer down to the eyebrows, while some men/ women have 'high foreheads'.

An 'average' hairline starts 2 thirds up from eyebrow to forehead 'summit' of a short hairstyle.

I am a professional storyboarder and graphic designer. There is no absolute correct way to hold a pencil. If you can get the correct results holding it with your feet no ones going to discredit your work.

Which ever way works for you, period. When I'm drawing tight or intricate lines, I usually hold my pencil near the bottom. When I'm doing quick graphite sketches or shading, I hold it more loosely at the top of the pencil.
