  • Great job boys! Enjoyed it very much!

  • I only recently learned this song and this is my favorite version. Very pretty.

  • * "the pit wheels they are stopping as the population's dropping" is backwards - it should be "For the population's dropping as the pit-wheels are all stopping"

  • your welcome... and thanks for the corrections....

  • * The same applies to the names of the towns in the valley, mentioned in the last verse:

    - Treherbert (pronounced as in English)

    - Treorchy (ch is officially pronounced a little like clearing your throat, but in the case of this name, it is usually like "k" - TreeOrky)

    - Tonypandy (Ton-a-Pandy, not Tony-Pandy)

    - Tynewydd (Tee-Neh-widd - "dd" as "th" in "this")

    - Ystrad Rhondda (Ustrad Rhondda)

    - Ton Pentre (pronounced as in English)

  • Some corrections if I may (posted separately due to silly length limits):

    * The name of the valley is Rhondda, not Rhonda - the "dd" is pronounced like "th" in "this", even when said in English.

  • A heartfelt song, about the forced closure of the major mining industries, and the devastating impact it had on the communities of the Welsh valleys - a place I call home. Originally performed by Frank Hennessy (writer) and Dave Burns (singer) - two Welsh men of Irish descent, and Welsh Paul Powell. Really nice to find this cover here, thankyou very much for sharing.
