OK so I still don't know what distro to install on my netbook! it came with Win7, and it has 2Gb and is still crap, so..
I have tried knoppix (on pc's) in the past (and loved it), and am downloading Debian live iso atm..
I know I want KDE or similar (the new Gnome stuff reminds me of win mobile/8! so no no!), and I just want to watch vids/web surf/etc. so who can recommend me a distro on that basis?
i tried pc-bsd but there's so many bugs. like live dvd konqueror doesn't work. then browsing the network doesn't work, then i find out I can't use youtube because there are no flash plugins made for pc-bsd. :( when I install Linux at least I can watch youtube.
FreeBSD guy would have provided the details like how advanced networking features are incorporated in THE FreeBSD, it's security features, it's stablility and support of large number of users, also about it's class performance..... He would have given the example like microsoft and hotmail which is currently running on FreeBSD.... He would have informed the audience about the real fact instead of just talking about graphical interfaces... No offend but I didn't like it...
Once you learn how to use more advanced systems then you just never really want to go back to the easier ones. Free-BSD is is great and Net BSD for covering so many architectures. Linux is still great though.
Just Installed Red Hat 9... good ol times..

@tabarnaqdecalisse I don't think so...Mint is a distro for users with no previous Linux experience. Is both powerful and easy to use.
btw: I use Debian but i recommend Mint.
