  • I like how you did this one. The river at that time of year at that time of day is nice. Can't get any better.

  • I'm willing to say that you've got the best comic review show on the net. Sure, not long or in depth, but usually pretty accurate and you review a lot of the books that I read.

  • Thank you for the kind words!

Have you seen our talk show? They're 30-40 minutes long, and we give pretty in depth reviews of graphic novels and TPB collections.

  • Great episode, guys & gal.

To me, Mark Millar seems like a one-trick pony. He's good at making shock value stories, but they really lack any substance. It's just perceived cool scene after perceived cool scene. It's fine if done every once in a while, but when it's all someone does, it gets old real quick. That said, the art for Nemesis, of what I've seen in the video, looks great. I doubt I'll be picking it up, though.

  • The art wasnt in pencil.

It looked like he drew the book completely on the computer via a wacom

  • Ah, ok, my mistake!

  • I agree with Moon Knight, only fans will like it, but Marvel is trying to make Moon Knight into their Batman, which is slightly disappointing.

However, I do recommend picking up the Moon Knight volume one trade.

I glad that you guys liked Scalped, it is one of the greats currently out now. Do you guys like Andy Diggle's The Losers?

  • We'll review Losers as soon as we can.

  • Ive read the first few issues of Losers, and it was really good. Take a look at the wikipedia for it, I'm sure you guys would like it. The characters are memorable and clearly defined, and the plot, while not being original, grabs you into their world and makes you feel like you're watching a movie. In fact, I could see this being picked up for a movie, easily.

Wikipedia describes it as "special forces soldiers who declare war on the CIA after their Agency handler tries to assassinate them".

  • Taisho, I loved Andy Diggle's the Losers. I was so heartbroken when I found out it was ending. Felt like a little kid saying "But...but...I don't want you to go." I love his work on Daredevil, too.

Have you heard about the Losers movie? What are your thoughts?

  • I agree. The Losers was one of the best series that came out last decade. However, I do think that, no matter how great the series was,32 issues was enough to tell the story. I am looking forward to the movie, but I am curious on what they are going to add and take out from the series. I hope that the movie does well enough for a sequel, unless the movie is a one-in-done film.

  • Actually, there's a poster for the Losers film at the end of this very segment.

  • Actually, that what propelled me to ask you that question, lol.

  • @TaishoReno I don't know if you found the Son of the Demon graphic novel, but you can order it off out Amazon for 8.99 (I think).

  • @Dreadpirate46

I didn't read the book... but I'm going to now! :D The trailer looks awesome! It's not too spectacular and the dialogue is funny in a 'we're-not-trying-too-hard" kind of way.

  • @mittenexpress I think you'll be pleased. The story isn't ground breaking, but what makes it such a great read is that Andy gives every character time to develop. There's rarely wasted dialogue. It's not all fly by the seat of your pants action - you get to know the people involved & become emotionally invested in what they're doing.

The movie looks to be done similarly, which makes me happy.

  • Y'all surprised me with Nemisis, especially u, Mike. That comic was such a Batman ripoff it wasn't even funny. It was written asif there was no story in mind, but that Millar had a bunch a little scenes in his head, had McNiv draw em, and then try 2 write a story around it'

    Different strokes, I guess, huh?

  • I agree, it is pretty flimsy. Still a cut above the average Marvel/DC, but not must-read. Everything Millar has done since Ultimates 2 has been less than stellar.

1985, Kick-Ass, Old Man Logan and Nemesis, all seem like he took a rough idea off the top of his head and spilled it onto a page without any refinement or re-drafts. Contrast him with his old mate Grant Morrison, who's stories are dense enough to warrant multiple reads that reveal something new every time.
