I'm kind of used to Taylor's version of Love Story since it is HER song, that she wrote about her life. I just can't see someone else singing it. Music is not just about hitting the right notes. He did give credit and didn't steal anything. And I don't know what the big deal is. Contestants from X Factor / American Idol have sang songs from other artists that the original artist does not know about or was not contacted for approval (like Coldplay, U2,etc). It's not like they released it as a single and made money. And if they did, the label, of course, would definitely talk to Gabe or whoever the rightful writer is to get the royalty rights, etc. So, people need to relax and enjoy.

People Joe didn't steal it. He was given the song to sing. Unfortunately unbeknownst to him the version belongs to Gabe Bondoc, which Joe gave credit to as soon as he got word. If anyone is to blame it would be the producers. If you knew what a genuine, down to earth nice young man Joe is. if you actually listen carefully to what joe sings they aren't EXACTLY the same as gabe's lyrics. there are very subtle differences throughout the song for example gabe's lyrics say "i had to leave you crying...", whereas joe sings " left you crying..."

i know it's quite insignificant but the producers' or whoever gave joe the song to sing can still use that to say they didn't steal his exact lyrics because they changed it a little

If the rewrite wasn't any good, why did they steal it in the first place (and not make their own version) & why did Taylor Swift tweet it? Credit should always be given where credit is due. Gabe's fans are really loyal and we just want it to be known that the humble guy who's been giving us homemade covers/originals for years with just his voice and guitar deserves a lot.
