Yeah... The only reason I have the smallest complaint about the costume is that she looks so young. If she looked 8 or older, it would be fine, but she looks 5 to me.
can i just clarify, saying someone is wearing an innopropreate costume dose NOT mean your attracted to them, it usually means the oppisit..... I myself dont mind this costume, to me it looks artistic not trashy. If i am offended but a costume (or more likely a dance) I usually get out of there and turn it off. I'm pretty conservative when it comes to little kids and how they are portrayed, the routines they do, costuming, etc. I did not find anything racy or sexy in this routine. There was one move/facial expression that irked me a bit but otherwise, it seemed like a normal dance routine for a kid of her caliber. Wow is she incredibly good!
@annagitana1 Why is there a need for the leg extentions front and center? Do you know what the judges call these behind the scenes? "Crotch shots". Also, why the need for a bra top for this dance? What does the ragged clothing represent to the adult judges and talent scouts? This all needs to be considered when children are involved.

i like the song, and she's an amazing dancer, but i think she should lean more into jazz because she smiles the whole time and hits some moves too hard(: i thnk she would be wickedd at more fast pace stuff, because in lyrical you have to ease into it and feel the music but i don't think she's there yet. It comes from how you deal with situations and the experiences you've been through and how its made them grow as a person. This is why at my studio, we have an age limit you have to reach to do lyrical. It's just an empty shell of a dance without any emotion. You can have the best dance technique in the world, but that isn't what makes the genre of lyrical magical. Lyrical is what it is because of feeling, heartache, and unearthly happiness. Unfortunately, she's 7 and doesn't understand this yet. I'm sure she'll grow to understand, but for now, this dance should be reserved for someone older. BEAUTIFUL lines though.
@duckieluver22 At my studio the dance teacher takes into account many factors when deciding type of solo and song for a dancer. There is no magical age requirement! How do you know what this girl is feeling when she performs this dance? It was amazing to watch!! And yes, I agree, her technique and lines are awesome!! Pretty good for 7 years old!!
I thought her opening was excellent, but perhaps the rest of the choreography was paced too quickly: she often moved quite fast, while the song was very slow.
Likewise, the outfit might have been better suited for a more up-tempo song. A longer, flowing costume would have been more appropriate for the theme and tone.
Finally, she seemed to be smiling through most of the performance. She's probably been taught to smile while dancing, but this is not the time.

Got to see this little girl dance at Nationals and she is amazing. The thing others don't realize is that costumes are desgined for the movement of the dancers and for the judges to see the dancers lines. If you are not familiar with the dance world and you are just youtubing watching dances or your child dances for recreational fun then you are not aware of this.
This girl is a beautiful dancer! What people need to realize is that dancing involves acting. Who cares that the song is strong, she still had unbelivable emotion and phenomenal technique. Let her parents worry about what they think is too muture for their daughter.

I have been dancing my whole life and competing at showbiz and similar competitions and this is one of the best dances i have seen:) the choreo is not one bit inappropriate. the theme of the dance may be a bit mature but she worked it. I can see outsiders point of view but it truely is a lot easier to dance in shorts and a sports bra. you can move more freely, and you don't get as hot. also judges can see the body lines. if it was that bad, judges would say something.

I don't think the choreography fits with the song. I felt like it was too fast, it failed to flow and some of the moves didn't really float well together. It was eh. But it's not the dancers fault, she's amazing, just not feeling the choreography.

i like the song, and she's an amazing dancer, but i think she should lean more into jazz because she smiles the whole time and hits some moves too hard(: i thnk she would be wickedd at more fast pace stuff, because in lyrical you have to ease into it and feel the music but i don't think she's there yet. Just because she is only 7 do you people want her dancing to hannah montana or elmo and not letting her reach her full potential? The only way this adorable little girl looks "sexy" is if you look at it that way, which is just wrong.
I see nothing wrong at all with this costume, it is flattering on her and is AGE APPROPRIATE, it matches the dance very well.
Therefore she would have gotten a good mark on it, now hush people!

This is why at my studio, we have an age limit you have to reach to do lyrical. It's just an empty shell of a dance without any emotion. You can have the best dance technique in the world, but that isn't what makes the genre of lyrical magical. Lyrical is what it is because of feeling, heartache, and unearthly happiness. Unfortunately, she's 7 and doesn't understand this yet. I'm sure she'll grow to understand, but for now, this dance should be reserved for someone older. BEAUTIFUL lines though.

How do you know what this girl is feeling when she performs this dance? It was amazing to watch!! And yes, I agree, her technique and lines are awesome!! Pretty good for 7 years old!!

I thought her opening was excellent, but perhaps the rest of the choreography was paced too quickly: she often moved quite fast, while the song was very slow.
Likewise, the outfit might have been better suited for a more up-tempo song. A longer, flowing costume would have been more appropriate for the theme and tone.
Finally, she seemed to be smiling through most of the performance. She's probably been taught to smile while dancing, but this is not the time.
She moves beautifully, however.

Got to see this little girl dance at Nationals and she is amazing. The thing others don't realize is that costumes are desgined for the movement of the dancers and for the judges to see the dancers lines. If you are not familiar with the dance world and you are just youtubing watching dances or your child dances for recreational fun then you are not aware of this.

She is better than most 15 year olds dancers at age 7, do you KNOW how hard these tricks are? The choreography sucks? Tell the choreographer that. This was beautiful.. I have been dancing my whole life and competing at showbiz and similar competitions and this is one of the best dances i have seen:) the choreo is not one bit inappropriate. the theme of the dance may be a bit mature but she worked it. I can see outsiders point of view but it truely is a lot easier to dance in shorts and a sports bra. you can move more freely, and you don't get as hot. also judges can see the body lines. if it was that bad, judges would say something.

I agree that was beautiful she is a wonderful dancer. Icant wait 2 see her when she get's old if she dance like this at the age of 7. If anyone has anything bad 2 say about that you r CRAZY half the ppl in the world kids r not doing anything so when they see a kid with talent in doing something with it they freak out .

I don't think the choreography fits with the song. I felt like it was too fast, it failed to flow and some of the moves didn't really float well together. It was eh. But it's not the dancers fault, she's amazing, just not feeling the choreography.

really really good. I loved the song and the dance. I found the costume just a bit distracting, something simpler would have been better but when it comes to the dancing very well executed. Keep up the great work sweetie I'm sure you'll make it far. :)

I didn't see anything inappropriate in this dance. A one piece would have been a little better but I guess its okay. The inappropriate dance for a seven year old is "My Boyfriend's Back (7 yrs old)"
