Man that took me back that was a favorable store when I was growing up in Louisville KY i got out of high school in 1979 I got one of the race tracks when I was kid kid I remember most of our toys were bought from there I was sad as I was in the NAVY on a submarine under the ocean when the stores closed I now live near and old jamesway that turned into a AMES now so many years later after it closed maybe a wlamart is coming to that spot in 2012 man I miss those days.
@ncrdisabled I sure miss those days, too! ZAYRE was the favorite store of my family to shop at. I even remember those old ZAYRE NIGHTLIGHAT SALES back in the late seventies. Thanks for watching this video!
Here is one for you do you remember the night light sales when the dropped the balloons from a huge net filled with ballons and the had little pieces of paper with prizes and some lucky person got persent off slips.
When I was kid and some what latter we used to go to at least 20 over the years . I wish I could find a youtube video but I do not ever remember any body haveing a VHS video recorder I remember one lady had a super 8 recorder . Man those were the days
@ncrdisabled I think I vaguely remember this. It sure was fun to go to those sales. Back then, no store was open that late and you had to wait for a nightlight sale to shop at ZAYRE'S at that time of night. Fun times. That would be awesome if someone took a film of those sales.
Anton and Jayne used to be an item and i believe she used to dabble in his hocus pocus.when she broke it off,he claimed to have put a bad mojo on her new boyfriend and told her to stay away from him.not long after,he was cutting something out of a newspaper only to turn the clipping over and see that he'd cut her head off of a picture on the other side.he claimed that's why she was decapitated in the accident.he also claimed to have been with Marilyn Monroe!
I was a dj in college and a few people have mentioned the tv/radio voice. My broadcasting teacher said the same thing. Thanks so much. You never know. Maybe one day!
the donut wheelie car by remco!i think that's the same company that made the kiss your face make-up kits.that jayne mansfield was a beauty!do you believe any of that stuff anton levey said about her?
Thanks Don. I've got a couple of other vitnage flyers from Zayre's and will put more up. The music in THE FAT SPY is great - vintage mid-sixties beach music. Yeah, those Dr. Goldfoot movies were hilarious!

I think that Phyllis Diller is still alive although she must be ancient now. I used to really enjoy watching her stand up routines back in the 60's!

Yep, she is my favorite female comedian. I think she is about 90 now. Thanks so much for watching!
