On Pancreatic Cancer

My boyfriend has stage 4b PC. and he is not getting morphine, radiation, nor chemo. However he is using Percocet every 4-5 hrs. He is currently experience moments of delirium where he thinks and behaves as if he was in a difference place and time. He claims that his thoughts wonder off and he speaks out whatever he is thinking about. He realizes what is happening but doesn't know if it's the pain killers or the cancer itself that is causing this. Would you know the answer to this?

They just released a promising new blood test for this. It's still in early stages, but gives hope for early detection.

If Patrick Swayze was a lifelong dancer and in good shape and didn't smoke, I guess that doesn't protect you.

Actually, Swayze was a lifelong smoker who 'cut-down', but didn't quite quit, even after his diagnosis. He also partially blames his smoking habit for the disease. I'm a fan, BTW....not slamming him....but that is a risk factor.

For the last 4-5 months Ive had kind of a dull ache in the bottom of my lower left ribcage, which sometimes goes down to the top of my stomach. Its never agony, and it doesnt seem to be getting any worse, but I do feel it most days. Im a complete hypochondriac so I purposely avoided Googling the symptoms, and tried to convince myself its just a pulled muscle or something, but Ive managed to terrify myself tonight.

Im only 24, but Im an ex smoker and I do drink 2-3 times a week.

im 31, also have same things going, but i also lost 55 lbs in 3 monthsno diet or sickness.i had several tests done after i googled my symptoms .i took my findings2her and she said2me that she too hought i had pancreatic cancer but it didnt show up in any of the tests. ive had cat scans, ultrasound, endoscopy, colonoscopy, blood tests, but oo mri. i am also obsessing now because she agreed with my findings n then said theres nothing showing up.but everthing is telling me i do have this cancer..

have your doctor check you for gallbladder sludge, or infection. I had horrible symptoms, but the gallbladder looked fine, however it ended up being infected.

Im only 15 by i have done re=search on pancreatic cancer i highly doubt it is but if i were you id go to the doctors straigh away.

My mom was diagnosed back in Dec of 08 and she has lost a lot of weight. They gave her pills for her appetite and she regain alot of weight back and has no signs of stomache ache although she feels a bit weak at times but her appetite is huge. She is on chemo and taking Reishi.And she is doing aok.

I had terrible jaundice so I was given a ct scan. They found a 8cm X 5cm tumor in my pancreas squeezing my bile duct closed and backing up the bile to my blood stream and gall bladder. Is there anyone who can give me hope? I want to live! I am only 60 and have just retired to enjoy life a bit.

do u think i have a pan creatic problem? my grandmother died at 34 from it, no one knew she had it also i have a few of those symptoms just not the jaundice, i get strange pains every now and then in that area also i was so sick i had my gall- bladder out at 16 yrs old am i at risk? please leave a message

Thanks. My Mom was just dieagnosed with suspected muscenous cysts (largest one 3cm in a cluster). Do you believe Whipple is warrented? She is 79 and very frail.

Thx for being honest. By the time it is known, it's too late. People should know that rather than suggesting he has a great chance to fight. Pancreatic cancer kills just about everyone who has it. 95% die. My mother did.
