I loved this album when it was first released, but now,.. I love it even more!! I think Gary was the pefect singer for the band in that moment. But now,... OMG!!!! With Diamond Dave again it is just another kind of truth!!! Yeeeahhhhh!! Rock'n Rooooooll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@nissansentraglx record company pulled the plug, not Eddie. Eddie and Gary are still on great terms. Gary actually recorded some of his new album at Eddie's 5150 studio.
@nissansentraglx yeah, didnt do well compared to other VH albums, but still sold well enough. Over 500K copies sold, 4 on Billboard top 200 according to Wiki. I thought the Album was solid. The company was just spoiled with all the money they made with the previous albums. In the USA, its all about trends nowadays anyway. Not like when bands had more control of what they were doing. The industry does the thinking now, which is why music in the mainstream has sucked for the past 20 years or so.
@nissansentraglx Speaking of trends.... had they gotten someone more current like a contestant from American Idol, or even the singer from The Darkness, I bet the Label woulda been happy and the general public woulda gobbled it up. But I and other VH fans wouldnt have been very happy.
@t3hPoundcakeHD How so? Looks like you're the imbecile, since you're incapable of elaborating. Do yourself a favor, read a book. You may learn something.
So...Gary is technically their best singer but all this does is remind me of Extreme's obvious influences. To his credit, Gary sounded amazing on this tour singing all the VH classics. I'd still take Sammy over Dave, especially in 2012, but anxious and hopefull for the new VH. I'm sure Diamond Dave will sound great on CD...but can he pull it off live?
Welllll. if I closed my eyes, had no idea who this was, I'd be shit, they ..sound familiar. Great track. but a squawking Gary ? sounds like he was trying to flatter Hagar..

@believer06 of course the record company pulled the plug, the record didn't sell well and the tour didn't do very good either.

One of their better tracks with Gary, and Mike actually got to play bass on this one.
