I think Gabrielle Von Karman limit is a physical limit for efficiency of moving vehicles. Not sure about the theory behind exactly, but have just seen it mentioned there and there.
Great news if you are inspired. If you want to meet this kind of guys, a good idea is to come to Oshkosh next time. Everybody is there and you will get even more inspired. Being inspired for a week all day long creates pretty awesome inspiration. I can tell this by being inspired myself too :)

Wow, VERY inspiring! I'm studying aerospace engineering and I truly love aerodynamics. My dream is to work on these kinds of designs, just like the guy talking.
I hope they are very successful with their synergy aircraft! Wish them lots of success.
