Let me put it this way, Mick Taylor contributed to songs and should have received credit, but I venture to say that "Sway" and any others that Taylor had input on would not have been what they were without Jagger or Richards, or both.
Richards isn't on Sway, Moonlight Mile and about 10 other songs from the Taylor era but it's a myth they ripped him off? Sorry, not a myth, just the Glimmers in action. He's written a number of fine sons through years, but doesn't have the same kind of publicity machine behind him and he's not exactly cool about being a 'star'.
He'd have stayed with the Corporate Band he was in if that's all he cared about. So explain how Sway is KRMJ through and through when he's not even on it.
1. This is stretching to capture the spirit of Exile on Main Street. Can't be done. The great thing about Exile was that it captured all this vibe without spelling it out like this song does.
2. If Mick Taylor were so such a great songwriter than why hasn't he come up with anything since the Stones "ripped" him off on Sway? The fact is that that is a myth. He may have contributed to some songs, but they are Jagger-Richards through and through.
If 'Time waits for no one' is Jagger-Richards through and through I'll eat my hat. Is Mick Taylor a great song writer? I don't think so, but that doesn't deny the fact that, as Ry Cooder found out, the Glimmer Twins had a pretty reptilian approach.

What a fuckin guitar solo! The one and only tasteful Mick Taylor - the Stones sold their soul when they ripped him off credits for Sway, etc
