Krásné zfilmování s nejlepšími hlasy - to je opravdová Rusalka!!! Bohužel současné inscenace jsou velice chudé.!!! I když hudba stále zůstává překrásná, je lepší poslouchat operu z desky.
@Micky701000 You must be totally deaf to say this! Gabriela Beňačková is a world famous and accomplished soprano. She is very often referred to be one of the best to sing this part ever.
The impending doom that await him is so evident between 2:36-3:08. You almost want to scream out to him, "Don't fall for her trick!". But alas, it is too late and he takes the bait.
Found this.. Nice try. But still looking desperately for any recording of Rusalka's Act III lament.. Which makes the pasty Song to the Moon look like the nursery rhyme it is..
Firstly, Song to the Moon is not a nursery rhyme, but one of the most beautiful arias ever written, IMHO :-) You're right it's no Boito.
Secondly, if you're referring to "Necitelná vodní moci" from the beginning of Act III, there are three versions on YouTube now, one of them in my videos.
I agree, i don't think i like the filming that much. I also feel that the actress doesn't quite suit the voice. Benacková's voice almost seems to rich or something for the actress - they just don't quite match, in my opinion.
But the music! The emotions! There is something that just pulls me in!
I was told that a special recording was made for the film...but there is very simular recording with Benackova and Ochmann available. I'd definitely recommend it.
Hi there, this recording is a soundtrack for the opera film taken in Czech in 1978. It used to be one of the best Rusalka avaiable, it was only in VHS format, unfortunately no more in offer even here in Czech. The music itself was not avalable solo however it is much better than Benackova-Ochman(Neumann conductor)version. I am lucky having this video since 1985....

@Micky701000 Well I got to disagree. Her voice is very nice, because Lucia Popp's Rusalka was the best

I think Rusalka is the darkest operera ever composed and it makes you feel the suffering of its character.
I am starting to like it.
