  • I remember my years of playing this in the pit...the ballet company never had a choir, so we had to sing AND play the parts at the same time...quite tricky, especially in the 2/4 part.

  • even AC/DC knows this guy!!

  • This has always been my most favorite part of the Nutcracker Ballet!!

  • When I was very ill a few years back, I remember that this would have been the last song I would have wanted to hear.

  • A mix of the movies "Barbie and the Nutcracker" and "Home Alone" Which is a bad combo, because Home Alone is one of my favs. Not Barbie, even though that was my childhood version of the nutcracker.

  • Ça, c'est de la musique qui te transporte. Ah.

  • 10 dislikes?!! wtf are you listening people!! even a deaf feel this

  • @Hipsterguurl lol well he did write The Nutcracker :P

  • random RON PAUL comment.

  • I love this, so much. It just started snowing here, (a little late for christmas, huh?) and the wind was blowing the snow off the trees, making them swirl around...it made me think of dancing...and then all the sudden I thought of the Nutcracker! So, now im listening to this, while looking at snowfalkes. ♥So beautiful.

  • Watching the snowflakes fall in Vienna. There's no better piece of art to accompany it!

  • @squatseat pretty much the way it's spelled if you take out the "t"

  • NO WE DO NOT TURN TCHAIKOVSKY OFF!

  • really, how do you pronounce this guy's name

  • @squatseat chie-cow-skee

  • @squatseat chai-kov-skee or chai-kow-skee

  • Still bumpin this in the two thousand 12. So gangsta!

  • 10 people didn't get to waltz in the snowflakes..

  • I can name 10 people today by various Youtube comments like: 10 people froze almost froze to death at Christmas while listening to this song 10 people are sleeping with the fishes to night 10 people are Idiots 10 people are deaf 10 people hasn't got any taste 10 people took wrong and took dislike by mistake 10 people don't know the difference between thumbs up and down 10 people were drunk when " liking" this 10 people have no souls Now I have only 43 letters left and I am going to use them :)
  • @concorde123100 LOL!

  • I Made My Own My Note Blocks Plays Classical Music On Minecraft

  • Why must EVERYONE bring up a certain young man, just becuase they want thumbs up?!

  • Both Christmas and Avatar owe much to this man.

  • 10 people have NO life! -_-

  • 10 dislike?!?! LOL nice try Bieber

  • 10 dislikes? thanks, Hermione >.>

(I just got done watching AVPM)

  • I love it

  • How does something so good get dislikes.

  • @koolsmegel10 well you got your waltz snowflakes, then you got your shovel-the-driveway snowflakes, and the dislikers just got them confused :)

  • @katiush65 haha

  • @katiush65 the dislikers got the shovel. Since then the contents inside the skull simply fail to function!

  • my favorite part of the Nutcracker, especially when the vocals are included. Those ah ah ah ah are icing on the cake.

  • @thewickednorth fitting name, what with snow.

  • beauteful sound , a magic componisisme

  • I watched this masterpiece yesterday.magnificent

  • I danced on this piece :)

  • @RakyFilHitchhiker :,D YOU'RE AWESOME :,>

  • That's awesome...

  • We just started winter and no more snowflake? Who the fuck makes these decisions at Google? So dumb. So dumb. Hide your kids.

  • what does the snowflake button mean?

  • @all4bieber It just a button at the bottom of the screen that if you press it, it will snow on the video.

  • WHAT THE HELL?! WHERES THE SNOWFLAKE BUTTON WHEN I NEED IT THE MOST!?

  • @sirshitsalot007 Haha :)) I haven't thought about listening to this when there was the snowflake button but I've listened to Debussy - The snow is dancing

  • use of trombone and flutes to evoke icy splendor at 1:25 is pure orchestral genius.

  • the perfect dance piece and evocation of winter

  • One of my favorite pieces by my favorite composer ever. It's just not Christmas if I can't listen!

  • I used to watch the Nutcracker ballet all the time when I was little. This was always my favourite part; I used to rewind it when it was over so I could watch it again. It's still my favourite music.

  • I recently got to go see the ballet last Saturday I've got to say it was really special to see. Especially since they got new beautiful costumes.

  • This is nice.

  • I mean peice ^^;

  • My favorite pice from The Nutcracker. This man was a genious! :D

  • @TheFangirl101 I don't know you, but this is by far the truest thing you've ever said:) He's my #1 all time favorite classical composer! And he did this all without the use of computers, 'samples', digital keyboards. Just a pen, pad and his wonderful mind!!!

  • @peppersax I think you summed that up quite well :D

  • Great memories ..christmas watching Edward Scissorhands !

  • I can feel the snowflakes falling down on my taste. Only classical listeners can understand this feeling

  • I go outside, its freezing. It starts to snow, i look up in wonder. *lightbulb*...go back inside get stereo, blast this music. Get naked, dance in snow outside. Neighbors call cops. Police come, get naked with me, start dancing. We all dance. I start to get hypothermia, call the ambulance. The EMTs come, take one look at me and the surrounding scene, get naked and start dancing. I die. What a wonderful christmas!

  • @xPTRIXx That was funny!

  • hahaha I love to get hypothermia like that hahaha , still at the end, we tasted snowflakes or at least we felt what snowflakes like, waltz.

  • @xPTRIXx That is, by far, the most exotic visualization by the influence of music. Ever. You have a Merry Christmas and I'm sorry that you died. :(

  • @xPTRIXx

One of the funniest comments I've read on Youtube XD

  • You can just hear the snow :)

  • ive came not trough cartoons, so there is only snowflakes in my vision

  • My five year old cousin came to my house and was all like Im a baby snowflake

  • Amazing composer... "To regret the past, to hope in the future, and never to be satisfied with the present: that is what I spend my whole life doing" -Tchaikovsky

  • One ironic thing I find about the classical music I like is that even though movies and cartoons are excellent for popularizing it, when I listen to the music itself I find I have to put the movie or cartoon I got it from out of my mind - otherwise it slightly detracts from the music.

  • @StAndAl0neCompl3x

Sorry you are SUCH IGNORANT - Some people are BORN STUPID and without sensibility

    FI

  • @nyciffmovies4rent ... What in the hell are you talking about, you blithering, babbling, baboon-headed idiot? If I could make sense of your accusation, I might actually defend myself. All I caught was that you called me "ignorant" for no apparent reason. You did, however, manage to prove your own statement. Well done.

  • @StAndAl0neCompl3x lol yea like entry of the gladiators, took me a while to listen to it without thinking about the circus

  • Tschaikovsky, I love you!!!!!!!!!!

  • @IvanShtar I danced to this instead of doing homework(:

  • Comment removed

  • Went to see the Nutcracker today, the snowflakes are amazing. I'd say they're my favourite part but then i'm clearly gonna go and comment on another song later and say that bit's my favourite. SO FESTIVE THOUGH :)

  • Were is the snow?

  • i love this song. I've danced to it twice... tomorrow making a third!:)

  • This is real christmas music, that you never grow tired of. Ignorant people should listen more to classic music

  • @wowowonderland People always think Classical music is 'lame' to listen to because it's so old But take for example Sugar Plum Farie That music is used in 1/4 of christmas ads.

  • @NoLife2point0 Does the fact that this is played so often prevent a person from thinking this is or is not lame?

  • @wowowonderland Exactly what would listening to these types of music, do to any ignorant people?

  • @crispykreamer exactly lol

  • @wowowonderland only because some people don't like classic music doesn't mean they're ignorant. anyways, love this song<3

  • @wowowonderland AMEN

  • @wowowonderland I listen to this even when its not christmas

  • @TheFlyingFoodTester So do I. It's incredible. Instrumental music does something. Something you can't compare to a lyric. Cause somehow the instruments sing and you create your own lyric based on every factor possible. Can't describe it.

  • @wowowonderland you described it perfectly

  • @wowowonderland There are those very few songs though where the lyrics have meaing and actually add enjoyment to the song. For instance, most of the music by Simon and Garfunkel

  • @wowowonderland ok the fact is that i like some rock/metal music but i didn't realy apresciat music it's not what i wan to listen to ... and in my childhood i listened to mozart and bethoven so clasical music is stuck in my head now i'm 16 and i like classical music and my favorit kind of music is classical music mixed with a drum and/or guitar or just classic music SO DON'T CALL ME IGNORANT UNDERSTOOD ?

  • @arkagui Well stated.

  • @arkagui One cannot stop calling you ignorant if you do not help. Your grammar is pretty lame, not for someone who used to like this kind of music or grew up with it.

  • @HarleyQ Waaah take it easy ! ... i'm not English/American , so i'm learning it , i know that i make alot of grammar and orthography errors

what ever this music made my my childhood and i contains no llyrics this is why i love it

PS : i'm not an ignorant

  • @arkagui I'm just saying, I'm not following the conversation but I can see why people could judge you. I am not English/American either, but if I want to make a statement I have to learn the proper language in order to do it. It's just a tip so people can take you seriously.

  • @HarleyQ i understand , thanks for the advice, ^_^

    Hasta Pronto

  • @HarleyQ Stop being so judgemental! Enjoy the music! :)

  • I see the Nutcracker every year and I cry the whole time because of the absolute greatness of music like this.

  • Thank you for posting this beautiful piece! It evokes such great feelings. So beautiful!

  • If you listened to this song while masturbating... no? Just me?

  • @chrisrules9955

I think you're confusing this with Tchaikovsky's "Nutbuster" in E Major.

  • @biliev1 good one;p

  • Just proved some trigonometric identities whilst listening...

  • i finished my homework while listening this, nice.

  • I love this piece of the nutcracker... it has always been my favourite!!

  • One of the greatest endings to a song ever!!

  • heh this reminds me of when i was a kid, watching the barbie version, who remembers that?

  • @moonlitsky110 sometimes i still watch that tape

  • @zoedawg14 nice one :D

  • So ....epic!

Thank you Russia for awesome talent.

  • I'm Snow Queen in a local production of The Nutcracker...this song is amazing to dance to. <3

  • If you listened to this while during homework

  • @IvanShtar that's what i'm doing right now

  • @IvanShtar I listened to this instead of doing homework.

  • @IvanShtar Thats auctually what Im doing right now!

  • @IvanShtar "...while during homework"? Looks like you need to crack some books instead of nuts.

  • How do people dislike this music???

  • @Imragnar1 they're deaf?

  • the man is a genius.. i'm dancing in the first act of the nutcracker this year and i stay and watch everyone else rehearse after me... but i'm really there because the music is so amazing

  • Wait were is this from? Because Im pretty sure this is NOT from the nutcracker

  • @TheFlyingFoodTester Yeah it's from the nutcracker. If you're still not certain try looking up video footage of a ballet performance at this scene.

  • This song, in beggining is like songs of Harry Potter ;)

  • @BoniPerei harry potter's song in begining is like this song

  • @TheColeManen i'm braziliam, my english is poor :)

  • @BoniPereira i'm russian, and my english poor too :)

  • ahhh brings back memories :/ wish i was still in ballet...

  • @MSSTILETTO97 I feel the same way...I never got to be in Nutcracker, but I always wanted to. Every time I listen to the music or watch ballet, I always miss it :)

  • Turn it on; listen a little; enchanted!! <3 <3

  • why there's a skull before "Arist: London Festival Orchestra" O_o

  • My all time favorite piece of classical music...its delicately scored, but, as you will note, written in a minor key which gives it an air of mystery and yet still childlike-quite a feat. Just like a real snow fall which can turn bad if one does not watch it. The addition of the children's chorus confirms Tchaikovsky's orchestration genius. Makes me appreciate anyone who has to dance to this elfin music.

  • By 4:00, it made me think of a dancer and her partner trying to do a really hard step, and the music served as something to build up suspense, to the moment in which they landed it. This piece is certainly pacing, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

  • I used to hear this in the Barbie Nutcracker, the real ballet, and the one my school put on when I was little! I was a little Snow Flake Fairy!!

  • Out of all the variations I've danced to, I still love this one the best. :3

  • Growing up in a horable stuffy rich house ballet was a monthly ritual for my family the nutcracker and swan lake were always my favs as a kid

  • Listening to this while its snowing! :D lol

  • that Tchaikovsky was gay makes him more sympathetic than he already is ^^

  • i feel proud to dance the nutcracker to this :)

  • im death.. i just came here to see Tchaikovskys tash

  • it makes me cry. i love it.

  • I remember this well, both from the play and from Barbie! Still a classic among my dvds! Especially when I am in a musical mood!

  • This was my first opera with young chorus of Teatro Massimo in Palermo! Sweet memories ... I was a kid..!

  • When I was young I watched Barbie and the Nutcracker nearly every day. The music touched me... Now I'm 18 and I can still listen to this all day long...

  • @OlsenFairReview And communism is bad? It was the dream of Russia until Stalin took power and made communism into Tolarism

  • @SovietLenin1 the idea of it is one of the purest and most humane. yet ppl aren't humane so it cannot work in practice without forcing people into it in order for it to work, thus abusing their human rights. communism can't succeed on a scale as large as national without oppression and dictatorship. that's my opinion anyway :)

  • @hopelesscynic1 You talk about Tolarism. Communism used to be good in Russia until Stalin changed both the law of Russia as well as communism itself BEFORE anyone else could become a communist nation. (wich made nearly all communist nations tolarism)

  • @SovietLenin1 yeah i get you. now communism has a bad name and people fear what it has become, therefore it wouldn't be possible to have a communist nation without resistance. thus you'd have to force it upon everyone in order for it to stick. just the way it is, really. you have one nice, good thing and someone goes and ruins it for everyone. sigh.

  • @hopelesscynic1 Besides from a short civil war against tsar loyalist and people who did not wish communism but democracy to begin with no one would even try a resistance. Wath i ment to say was: Communism today is not communism if you want to take it that way.

  • At least Russia got something right. And by that I mean their Composers, not Communism.....

  • @MainnAndJarakaco Yaeh I completely agree! But they did have others like Dostoevsky, a writer, and they were all pre-Revolution. Then it all went to shit, basically....

  • Maybe its just a little early to say this, but I think it has a rather Christmassy feel to it!

  • awwwwwwwwwww IM IN EXACTLY FALL IN LOVE WITH TCHAIKOVSKY <3

  • I think Tchaikovsky is so much better than Mozart and Beethoven together<3

  • i'm flying on this Waltz

  • WOOOOOOOOW, FANTASTIC! OMFG OMFG

  • so beautiful........i wish we still heard beautiful music like this on the radio

  • the "aaaaaaahhhhhh" bit makes me think of singing snowflakes dancing about. :3

  • Russian composers of the 19th century wrote the most beautiful symphonies.

    Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Scheherazade, etc.

    i really like it!

  • Wonderous music!

  • i wanna cry and dance and lie and yell and sleep and laugh and die and live all at the same time when i hear Tchaik

  • edward sizzor hands ?

  • oh how i long to see this ballet again... oh how i long to....
