@vampiregirl7195 Wise choice. The DS's life cycle will probably end this year as a result of the 3DS succeeding it, so getting a 3DS is the clear choice here. DSi's existence is rather pointless to me at this point, since the 3DS can do everything a DSi can do, except more.

@bobpraker If you don't care about playing GBA games, get a 3DS, no question about it. The problem with getting a DS/DS Lite this late in its life cycle is that, the DS series will undoubtedly get discontinued sometime this year because Nintendo has moved on from the DS and is now making games for 3DS. 3DS is the successor to the DS, so the 3DS is unquestionably better than the DS series because it has better graphics, an analog stick, and has exclusive games that won't be available for DS.

I've had my DS lite for 3 years now (My second; it's red) and already it's beginning to lose its composure. The colour is becoming white in the area near the hinge, and the hinge itself is loosening. Is that normal, or does mine just do that? Does your DS lite have any problems?

The graphics of a Ds and Dsi game all looks the same on a 3ds but the the only difference is the 3ds has a brighter screen. That doesn't necessarily mean better graphics or worse graphics. It just means it has a brighter screen.

You're obviously biased. Ds games look worse on a 3rd than they do on any other ds. They are horribly upscaled and look way blurrier than any ds screen. For them to look good, as soon as you click the cartridge, hold start and select until the game boots up. You're welcome

Nintendo should make DS games that have 3DS enhancements (meaning it will be in 3D and have content strectching to the ends of the screen if inserted in the 3DS, but would still work with any of the DS family), like the upcoming sequel to Pokémon Black and White, Gray.

well I can live with a dsl for now, consider pokemon still can be play on my dsl. theres no need for me to grap a 3ds until pokemon series completely move on to 3ds, which something I dont think will happen until next gen handheld is release from nintendo. Something thats not ds any more, this 3ds just newer version of the dsi. Consider NDS-NDSL-NDSI-3DS, not a major difference between them interm of general game play.

@IMCL85 What are u talking about? there is a MASSIVE difference between the NDS-Dsi compared to the 3DS. No.1 its 3d No.2 Completely different cartridge No.3 it has 3DS exclusive games that aren't on the NDS series.

The 3DS is a brand new console just like the NDS was when it first came out after the GBA.

to me the only game I really like to play on a ds system is pokemon. Other then that I rather go back to play other pc/console game. and really no difference right now between 3ds and a normal ds on pokemon black and white. Unless they come up with a new pokemon game that is entirely design for 3ds, else I wouldn't bother with them.
